Re: Will Trump be a Good President?

The U.S. trade deficit grew to $54.9 billion in August, a 1.6 percent increase from July, and a spike over last year.

When compared to the same period last year, the overall trade deficit was up $28.3 billion, or 7.1 percent, as exports dropped slightly and imports spiked.

Trump has pointed to large trade deficits as a sign of economic weakness and promised to bring them down.

US added 136,000 jobs in September; around 10% under what was expected adding to the pressure on US stocks already hit by poor manufacturing reports.

A Georgia high school teacher was put on administrative leave over her description of the Confederate flag.

At Hephzibah High School, a teacher reportedly displayed a picture with a Confederate flag and a description of what the flag meant.

"Think of it as a white trash ‘Save The Date’ card.”

We placed a 25% Tariff on “dumped” steel from China & other countries, and we now have a big and growing industry.
We had to save Steel for our defense and auto industries, both of which are coming back strong!

Meanwhile in the real world, Moody's downgraded its outlook for the entire US domestic steel industry to "negative" from "stable." The credit rating agency cited slowing manufacturing overall and a continued decline in prices.

US Steel is temporarily laying off workers from its Great Lakes Works factory near Detroit and its Gary, Indiana, plant.

Not really. He's using Trump, just like Trump is using Kim.

Manchurian Candidate strikes again

Quote:
According to the Washington Post, Trump “harangued” May about Britain’s contribution to Nato in a phone call with Britain’s then prime minister in the summer of last year, before disputing Russian involvement in the Skripal case.

“Trump totally bought into the idea there was credible doubt about the poisoning,” said a figure briefed on the call. “A solid 10 minutes of the conversation is spent with May saying it’s highly likely and him saying he’s not sure.”

any member can move the charges are dismissed early on, that results in a senate vote. McConnel is well aware of that, after saying he had no choice but to enter a trial he added 'but how long we are in it is a different matter'
It is claimed by some that despite Trump being involved in over 3,000 lawsuits he has never actually appeared in a courtroom.

Consequently, they believe Trump would eventually resign rather than stand up in the Senate and face even a short trial.

Interesting theory, hard to judge if things would ever really turn out that way!

Clinton had a videotaped deposition, IIRC. I can't imagine Trump's lawyers ever letting it get that far. The senate might open a trial after the House is done, but odds are they won't go anywhere with it.

Would Trump's ego ever allow him to resign? What I find so 'interesting' is that, clearly, he ran for President due to the expectation that it would bring him more power, honor and respect. But the opposite has been happening. He is a national disgrace. Trump doesn't care about the country, and he doesn't care about people. Trump only cares about three things: Money, power and attention.

Just when you think Trump has hit his lowest low he exceeds your expectation

Quote:
The US to let Turkish forces move into Syria, dumping Kurdish allies as White House reveals a policy shift, which follows a conversation between Trump and Erdoğan.
The Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) spokesman, Mustafa Bali, accused the US of leaving the area to “turn into a war zone”, adding that the SDF would “defend north-east Syria at all costs”.
The decision represents the latest in a series of erratic moves by Trump apparently taken without consultation with, or knowledge of, US diplomats dealing with Syria, or the UK and France, the US’s main international partners in the country.

Brett McGurk, a former US special envoy for the fight against Isis, said: “The White House statement tonight on Syria after Trump spoke with Erdoğan demonstrates a complete lack of understanding of anything happening on the ground.

Shame.

This is really the worst thing he has done so far. On multiple levels.

All the Ukraine whistle-blower stuff and everything before that is just peanuts IMO.

You have to wonder what kind of bargain he got from Turkey for this?

Maybe they got their hands on a piece of evidence that shows MBS red-handed in the assassination of Jamal Khashoggi?

Or did they buy some resort from him?

But hey, the US has abandoned allies before. People should know by now.

As I have stated strongly before, and just to reiterate, if Turkey does anything that I, in my great and unmatched wisdom, consider to be off limits, I will totally destroy and obliterate the Economy of Turkey (I’ve done before!). The U.S. has done far more than anyone could have ever expected, including the capture of 100% of the ISIS Caliphate. It is time now for others in the region, some of great wealth, to protect their own territory. THE USA IS GREAT!
