You answered your own question in the last sentence . Since they have no actual case to make, they just use smoke, mirrors and garbage generation* to obfuscate the impeachment process.

Re: Will Trump be a Good President?

Trump and his White House are a genuine never-ending comedy of errors.

Currently, his impeachment is based on his July 25 call with Ukraine President Zelensky.
Spanky insisted they release a transcript of his April 21 call also with Ukraine President Zelensky, nobody seems to know why?
Now we know from the new transcript that the official White House Press Release about his April 21 call which said the call was about corruption in Ukraine was a lie! Corruption was not mentioned.

One might imagine that somebody among the thousands who work for the White House would have checked this stuff before releasing the transcript and so managed the release much better?

Hmmm, thinking of that sleazy ex NY mayor Giuliani and Trump's current lawyer, who tried to use his influence in order to protect some corrupted figures in other country (how dares he?) and then blaming the democrats (JB) for these things....it's all becoming a huge joke.

Is this the first time murder has been presidentially pardoned?

I believe Trump is the first!
Other Presidents have commuted death sentences to prison sentences but not fully pardoned.

Maybe you did not notice but this thread is about the US?

If you want to go down this rabbit hole then when did the DPRK President ever pardon a murderer? Take your time answering

I'm very well aware this is about the US, where a guy who got non-elected by popular vote is now ruling on "presidential orders" (read: completely un-democratic stuff) and not giving a s*** on any democratic institutions.

If he could, he would probably happily cancel any elections. Guess for the time being he has to keep on buying them through his Russian buddies..

Trump is indeed the first US president to pardon a convicted murderer, but this (Lorance) wasn't his first time. He did the same thing six months ago. In addition to pardoning a convicted murderer, at the same time he pre-emptively pardoned a serviceman awaiting court martial for murder.

You can just hear him at his next rally: "Trump loves murderers! Don't lock them up!"

Wow, just wow, the pre-emptive pardons are particularly shocking, he's saying he doesn't care what facts might emerge during the trial. However anyone accepting such a pardon is at the same time confessing to the charges; you can't be pardoned for something you didn't do

I'm not sure of the legal technicalities, but I believe that in the case of the soldier who was facing court martial, Trump quashed the proceedings; i.e. there was no case, so no guilt for the soldier to accept. Justice, the Trumpian way.

Re: Will Trump be a Good President?

Another big blow at the polls for Trump: Jon Bel Edwards, a Democrat, has won re-election as Governor of Louisiana, beating his Republican challenger Eddie Rispone. Rispone had been backed heavily by Trump. This follows the Democrat gubernatorial victory in Kentucky a couple of weeks ago. The southern states of Kentucky and Louisiana have both been historically strongly Republican.

Personal slap for Trump who held rallies in both States to support the GOP candidates.

Also, the backlash that many in the GOP forecast after the vote for impeachment has not happened.

Some people claim there was a big increase in the black vote for Dems in Louisiana; they are around 30% of the State population so a major group.

Meanwhile, the Dem 2020 field of Presidential candidates is changing from a zoo to a circus

Growing factional splits in the GOP support!

Quote:
Donald Trump Jr walks out of Triggered book launch after heckling – from supporters.

Donald Trump Jr ventured on to the University of California’s overwhelmingly liberal Los Angeles campus on Sunday, hoping to prove what he had just argued in his book – that a hate-filled American left was hell-bent on silencing him and anyone else who supported the Trump presidency.

But the appearance backfired when his own supporters, diehard Make America Great Again conservatives, raised their voices most loudly in protest and ended up drowning him out barely 20 minutes into an event scheduled to last two hours because they were not allowed questions.

Nowt stranger than folks
In some sort of bizarre parallel to Middle East extremists claiming they are just following Islam, there is now a bunch of alt-right anti-Semitic extremists claiming they are just Trump supporters.

I just realized what this was, this was how the US president just responded to a foreign dictator saying a US citizen and former vice president should be beaten to death.

Remember when there was a US president not afraid to stand up for US citizens against dictators. What a weakling this one is.

Re: Will Trump be a Good President?

Evermore rumors circulating about Trump's unexpected visit to Walter Reed hospital on Saturday; also strange that he went by road when usually he took a helicopter!
I hope he remains mentally competent.

Meanwhile, Trump in a tweet yesterday urged Kim Jong Un to “act quickly, get the deal done” and hinted at another summit between them, saying “See you soon!”

N. Korea's reply;
Quote:
“We are no longer interested in such talks that bring nothing to us.
As we have got nothing in return, we will no longer gift the U.S. president with something he can boast of, but get compensation for the successes that President Trump is proud of as his administrative achievements.”
LOL!
