Re: Will Trump be a Good President?

Stocks started to slip around the beginning of the month, which is also when it was clear that this impeachment-thing would go forward.

It's already priced in, IMO.

Down less than 2% since the beginning of the month plus there has been some bad news about the China trade deal; hardly a "crash"?
Also less than 2% down from this year's high point.

Schiffs impeachment is a FARCE because

1. There was no military aid withheld.

2. The conversation about corruption in Ukraine was based on compelling evidence of criminal conduct by then VP Biden, in 2016, that has not been resolved and until it is will be a major obstacle to the US assisting Ukraine with its anti-corruption reforms.

The American people will learn that Biden & other Obama administration officials, contributed to the increased level of corruption in Ukraine between 2014 to 2016.

This evidence will all be released very soon.
Putting alleged "criminal conduct by then VP Biden" and "major obstacle to the US assisting Ukraine" in the same sentence does sound like "quid pro quo"?

Re: Will Trump be a Good President?

The much-awaited DOJ Inspector report into the Russian probe [Crossfire Hurricane] is released here today, turns out to be a nothing burger which will disappoint Trump's fan boys!

Some quotes;
Investigations did not start because of Steele's reports;
Quote:
The officials responsible for opening the investigation did not become
aware of Steele's election reporting until weeks later and we, therefore, determined that Steele's reports played no role in the Crossfire Hurricane opening.
No political bias
Quote:
We concluded that the quantum of information articulated by the FBI to open the individual investigations on Papadopoulos, Page, Flynn, and
Manafort in August 2016 was sufficient to satisfy the low threshold established by the Department and the FBI.

We did not find documentary or testimonial evidence that political bias or improper motivation influenced the decisions to open the four individual investigations.
FBI did not use spies to fake the evidence used to start the investigation
Quote:
We found no evidence that the FBI used CHSs or UCEs to interact with members of the Trump campaign prior to the opening of the Crossfire Hurricane investigation.
No spies planted in or on the Trump campaign
Quote:
After the opening of the investigation, we found no evidence that the FBI placed any CHSs or UCEs within the Trump campaign or tasked any CHSs or UCEs to report on the Trump campaign.
Quote:
Horowitz specifically wrote that Peter Strzok and Lisa Page did not affect the start of the investigation and didn’t act out of political bias.
They did find some information was not included in the applications for FISA warrants but did not determine if that was sufficient to have caused rejection of the warrants.

Re: Will Trump be a Good President?

Articles of impeachment of Trump have just been announced.

Two articles were read out. I would have expected a few extra charges; I wonder if more articles will follow.

The real Trump and Johnson are actually way better comedy characters
The Trump family soap opera continues to spring in wildly unexpected directions.
Christopher David Steele is a British former intelligence officer with the Secret Intelligence Service MI6, the author of the dossier that Trump has blasted as “phony and corrupt,” and the basis of the F.B.I. “witch hunt” against him—for years.

Now it is claimed by a number of newspapers Chris is a "close personal friend" of Ivanka Trump since 2007. It is also claimed by some sources that Chris gave her a number of expensive gifts including a family tartan and an alpaca (a species of South American camelid) or maybe that is a euphemism for something else?

Could this claim be true and, if so, did dad know?

We do know from the IG report released yesterday that Steele is quoted;
Quote:
He stated that if anything he was "favorably disposed" toward the Trump family before he began his research because he had visited a Trump family member at Trump Tower and "been friendly" with [the family member] for some years.
He described their relationship as "personal" and said that he once gifted a family tartan from Scotland to the family member.
Meanwhile, Trump’s Attorney General William Barr, is already hard at work trying to discredit the findings of his own organization.

Did I ever write "you could not make this stuff up"?

Looking like very good Democrat support for USMCA. That would be great for our Country!

And also today but from the GOP
Quote:
Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) said on Tuesday that the Senate will not take up President Trump’s trade deal with Canada and Mexico before the end of the year.

McConnell, outlining the to-do list for the chamber before senators leave for Christmas, said the trade deal was not on the list.
He also said the Senate was unlikely to vote on the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA) until after an expected impeachment trial for Trump

“Senator McConnell has no excuse not to bring up the USMCA,” said a spokesman for Pelosi.

Re: Will Trump be a Good President?

The "Trump War Room" (part of Trump's reelection campaign) has tweeted out a video lifted from the Avengers:Endgame movie, showing Trump's head crudely grafted onto Thanos' body. Trumnos clicks his fingers to wipe out the Democrats as they table their articles of impeachment.

Only problem is (well, problems are, to be grammatically accurate):
  • Thanos is an arch-villain hell-bent on destroying everybody in the world
  • The scene from the movie that these geniuses have selected is the one where, as one comment puts it, "his plan to kill everyone in the universe falls apart due to his arrogance and incompetence"
  • If Trump is Thanos, that makes Pelosi Iron Man... oops
  • The unauthorized use of the footage plus the imbecility of the "message" has led Jim Starlin, the creator of Thanos, to call Trump a "pompous fool" with an "infantile ego" in a widely reported interview with The Hollywood Reporter: "After my initial feeling of being violated, seeing that pompous fool using my creation to stroke his infantile ego, it finally struck me that the leader of my country and the free world actually enjoys comparing himself to a mass murderer."

Oh dear. Trump's team could at least have watched the Avengers movies before shooting themselves, and Trump, in both feet.

Imagine growing up and being able to tell your grandkids that, at the tender age of just 16, you managed to make the President of the United States so bitter and jealous he repeatedly made a tit of himself on social media over you?
