You need to define what you mean by "Americans" like white/black, rich/poor, young/old, Christian/other religion.....

One in almost 42,000 people has an iq greater than 160. The chance of you knowing “several” is nonsense. Forget that though, you can have an off the charts iq - but if you don’t have reasoning skills, etc, it matters not at all.

The admittedly biased sample that I consult says no.

It doesn'tmean they function well in the society, though.

Talking of IQ is a bit like talking of shoe sizes.

Economically:
Economic growth has been steady since 2010. Tax cuts didn't stimulate the economy in any appreciable way, except in stock prices (via buy backs). But, are estimated to add ~ $2 trillion to the debt - the budget deficit grew by 50% under Trump and the vast majority of the tax cut benefits went to the wealthiest Americans.

American consumers, not china, are paying for the import tariffs (a study estimated $3.2 Billion a month). And we've further socialized farming with Trump's $28 Billion political bribes supporting mostly the large Ag companies.

So, if your priority is bankrupting the US to benefit billionaires, we're doing great. Otherwise, Trump's agenda has been terrible.

Morally:
The US government is pardoning and celebrating war criminals (literally someone who proudly killed innocent women and children). Approximately 5,500 migrant children were separated from their families, and put in cages for months on end. A version of Trump's Muslim ban is law in the US - disturbing for any non-bigoted American. Our president has consistently blocked sanctions on Saudia Arabia, which chopped up US resident & WaPo writer Khashoggi with a hacksaw while still alive and is enabling the starvation crisis of 20 million Yemenis. Trump turned his back on some of our most loyal and longest allies against ISIS - the Kurds - when they faced genocide and his business partner Erdogan wanted a favor.

Corruption:
The President pays himself with US tax payer money - every weekend at a Trump hotel or golf trip! It amounts to at least of 10s of millions of dollars. Trump obstructed justice on multiple occasions. He very clearly abused his powers by withholding congressionally approved military aid to Ukraine, to get them to announce an investigation into a political rival.

I could do this all day. His presidency is littered with political, moral, and economic failings. He's making a mockery of our country.

His only redeeming quality is he's highlighted who among us find these things acceptable. So we can see them too for who they are.
