BTW, so far nothing reported about this rejection in the US papers
How is that even possible? Say whatever you like, but the press there is not exactly censored. Has Trump's reign changed everything or are they simply incompetent (as in don't attribute to malice what is adequately explained by stupidity )?

Trump said later

"I don't know, I was really drunk at the time!"

Trumpo doesn't drink, his brother was an alcoholic and died, Trumpo saw the damages and drinks diet coke

Fully agree with you, but Trumpo is renown for drinking about 10 diet cokes a day !

Good question!
The only British paper that featured it is the Evening Standard, BBC buried it in a podcast and the Guardian only briefly mentioned it deep in the back pages.

The Telegraph had this headline "Palestinians diplomatically isolated as Arab states welcome Trump's plan" three days ago but have now gone quiet as it turns out the Arab league has unanimously rejected Trump's plan.

I assume Trump's fixers are now running around the Middle East with open cheque books trying to get support?

The piece is heavily biased against Israel but nevertheless the conclusions are reasonably accurate,
for example;
Quote:
the fact that the international community recognises as a proposed “two state solution” a paper which in no sense whatsoever establishes a Palestinian state within any normal definition of the word, should tell us something important.

Tbh, judging from my semi-ignorant perspective in regards to "Middle East problem"....I kind of wish this peace plan would be successful. The accent is on Peace here. Of course, I do realise things are never simple over there.

I agree with your wish but this plan which gives everything to Israel is hard to sell to the Palestinians.
The Arab League did say it was not worth going to war over the plan so looks like they are abandoning the Palestinians too

Of course it is, even in a "regular" courtroom trial. However, it's pretty common in regular trials to call witnesses both for and against the defendant so the jurors can make an informed decision and each side can plead its case.

In this situation, the Senate didn't call witnesses for either side and the outcome was clear from the start. Massive waste of taxpayer money.
I don't think it was a waste of money. Even if aquittal was always the most likely outcome it was Congress's sworn duty. Just because the GOP have given up all pretense of protecting the constitution doesn't mean the rest have to join them. Additionally I think its exposed how corrupt the GOP senators are to an audience that might not have paid attention before. Lastly history will forever label him the first president impeached in his first term, that's awesome.

Hundreds of millions for the orange man to play golf, that's a waste of money, not this.

Re: Will Trump be a Good President?

Thanks!
From one of your links;
Quote:
According to Haaretz, an Arab diplomat explained that the United States did not disclose the full details of its Mideast peace plan to Arab states before its release which is why representatives of three Arab countries attended the event unveiling it and "when they got into the minute details of the plan, we understood that there is no Palestinian state in practice and there is no capital in East Jerusalem, and more importantly, that there is an attempt to divide al-Aqsa Mosque" and "..so ultimately all the [Arab League] foreign ministers fell in line with the position opposing the Trump plan, and reiterated their commitment to the Arab Peace Initiative
Looks like Trump only told the Arab States half of his peace plan story to persuade them to attend his announcement, later when they got into the small print they realised they had been fooled and rejected the plan.

This is what happens when you have an estate agent (realtor) trying to manage complex international, intercultural relations!

I take it Bloomberg wants Trump to be re-elected?

Arguing with such trivia while the choice of serious Trump lies is endless.
Not to mention that the tan is not spray on but cream made by Bronx Colors and afaIk his hair is not fake, only comped from one side to the other?
(Not a Trump invention )

WTH?

Donald Trump didn’t know that the Kansas City Chiefs were from Kansas City, Missouri and actually thought they were from “the Great State of Kansas.”

I doubt that anyone in the camp read a fraction of the 181-page document. Probably Trump saw a single slide that said it was a two state solution when clearly (edit: when you look in the small print) the Palestine state proposal does not meet the basic definition of a state.

Edit: Probably this is why the three Arab states attended the peace plan announcement but later rejected the plan when they read the small print.

Trump gives his State of the Union speech tomorrow, probably the first US President to do this in the middle of his impeachment trial.
