A deal with the Taliban?
Will he do one with ISIS next?
Yes. Imagine this individual blows up every stability that part of the world might have so I wouldn't be surprised if his next partners are isis.

He's shitting not only on American troops but also on NATO troops.

If you consider a never ending, unwinnable war stability that is.

And you consider sending more troops to their deaths to be prudent?

Haters gonna hate.

Re: Will Trump be a Good President?

IMO, the tentative peace agreement with the Taliban, is unequivocally a good thing - we'll see if it lasts.

The Bush administration responded to an attack from Al Qaeda - a vagabond terrorist organization - by nonsensically declaring war/enemies with the Taliban, Iraq, and Iran. It was that insane jingoistic warmongering that led us down this terrible path. The negotiation process with the Taliban started under Obama and I'm glad it's coming to a head now. Trump lowered the bar further to make the deal easier.

Basically all major US Politicians believe in at a minimum, including Bernie Sanders, military intervention in the face of a humanitarian crisis (e.g., Bosnia mid-90s, Obama in Libya). It's a step in the right direction if we focus on that and active deterrence of terrorist hotspots when they arise (e.g., eliminating ISIS) and end our nation-building projects.

Re: Will Trump be a Good President?

US stock markets going more crazy.

Yesterday the Dow had the largest one day rise ever of 1,300, presumably on the expectation the Fed would cut interest rates.
So today the Fed cut interest rate by a half percent, as hoped, the largest cut since 2008; and the Dow promptly fell 1,000 points

Where next for the Dow? Anybody's guess.

Pathetic aspersion casting.
This is a massive vote winner for Trump.
Seems to be an unusual peace agreement

Quote:
The U.S. launched an airstrike against the Taliban in Afghanistan on Wednesday, days after the Trump administration signed a deal with the military group.
People wrote Joe Biden off too soon. The former vice president won the majority of the 14 states that voted Super Tuesday, defeating Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) in several key primaries across the country.

Re: Will Trump be a Good President?

US Freedom of Information Act seems to be a better tool to discover what the Trump Administration is up to than the traditional Constitutional role of Congress to oversee the Executive Branch.

Quote:
A federal judge on Thursday ordered the Department of Justice to hand over to him a copy of the unredacted Mueller report and accused Attorney General William Barr of misrepresenting its findings in the days before it was submitted to Congress last year.

Judge Reggie B. Walton, a federal district court judge in Washington, said that he could not reconcile Barr's public comments in April 2019 about the report with the actual findings that Special Counsel Robert Mueller outlined.

"These circumstances generally, and Attorney General Barr’s lack of candor specifically, call into question Attorney General Barr’s credibility"

Did Mueller give the federal judge a hint maybe?

Re: Will Trump be a Good President?

Trump may live to regret mocking "mini Mike" Bloomberg.

Seems he is planning to turn over his two and a half thousand campaign organisation and his unlimited funding to the Dem nominee.

Although Bloomberg has retired from the campaign he is still running multi-million $ anti Trump ads.

US stocks crashing down again

Seems we can write off the US/Taliban peace agreement!
Several gunmen today killed at least 27 people and wounded an estimated 55 in Kabul, Afghanistan, at a remembrance ceremony for a Shiite leader who had been killed by the Taliban.

Re: Will Trump be a Good President?

White House revolving door in good order!
Mulvaney fired and Congressman Mark Meadows will become the fourth White House Chief of Staff in a little over three years.

Mulvaney becomes special envoy to N. Ireland, who takes over the Office of Management and Budget.

How long before Meadows falls out of favour?

Re: Will Trump be a Good President?

By the end of February, the World Health Organization had shipped coronavirus tests to nearly 60 countries.

Why the United States declined to use the WHO test, even temporarily as a bridge until the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention could produce its own test, remains a perplexing question.

The slowness of the US testing regimen — which, administration officials acknowledged this week, is still not producing enough tests to meet the national demand — was the first, and most sweeping, of many failures.

Re: Will Trump be a Good President?

US stock markets plummeted down on opening with the DOW below 24,000 following today's biggest points drop in US history. Hard to believe the DOW was over 29,000 a couple of weeks ago.
New York Stock Exchange has automatically closed for 15 minutes to digest.

Meanwhile, Trump continues to tweet he did a great job of stopping the virus.

Crude oil prices are also in the cellar as Saudi has decided to start an oil price fight with Russia; presumably, both are hoping to kill the US oil shale business.

Biden now performing very well in the primaries, pity the guy is so old....
Sanders won Michigan last time around but Biden has now won by 16%.

Biden's win margin in Mississippi is 66%!

Re: Will Trump be a Good President?

Trump has tweeted his "Complete and Total Endorsement" of a former University football coach in the GOP primary for the Alabama Senate seat held by Jeff Sessions before his elevation by Trump to US Attorney General. His opponent in the primary is... Jeff Sessions, looking to win his seat back from the Democrat who won it in 2017.

Moral of the story: don't even think of working for Trump. You'll get screwed, and it won't even stop after you leave.
