Don't hold your breath.

I forsee a cancelled Election, with Trump retaining Power due to a National 'Mergency that never quite ends.

And if he loses the election, I'm sure he'll blame it on the virus.

By the way... This actually might be a good time to wear a MAGA hat. "It's an excellent people repellent." -- Larry David

Spanish Flu. West Nile Virus. Zika. Ebola. All named for places.

Before the media’s fake outrage, even CNN called it “Chinese Coronavirus.”

The elephant in this room is the quote lists the official names of these diseases, just like the coronavirus has an official name which is not Chinese virus.

Re: Will Trump be a Good President?

Trump’s Florida estate, Mar-a-Lago, is reportedly closed as well as many other Trump properties due to a lack of customers.

Presumably, Trump will have to stay in the White House?

Was expecting he suggested windmills.

Was his corona test negative? Maybe it's the cream that turns him orange? The Swiss company should start exporting it to the US - just in case - they don't yet, Trump gets it from .... Mexico.

Quote:
"I have to tell you, the throwing away of the masks, being in private business, the throwing away of the mask right away, they're throwing it away," Trump said during Saturday's White House coronavirus briefing.

Suggesting that health care workers instead clean and reuse the masks, the President said: "We have very good liquids for doing this, sanitizing the masks, and that that's something they're starting to do more and more. They're sanitizing the masks."

Re: Will Trump be a Good President?

Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) who has been blocking Senate votes on the coronavirus relief bill has tested positive today for the coronavirus.

Mitch McConnell, the Republican Senate leader, has been blocking attempts to introduce remote voting due to coronavirus so Rand Paul will not be able to participate in any votes today and in the near future.

McConnell is the second Kentuckian to lead his party in the Senate and is the longest-serving U.S. senator from Kentucky.

Two more GOP senators now self quarantining; at this rate, they will lose their GOP Senate majority; what happens then?

Quote:
There are now five Republican senators in self-quarantine or isolation – Sens. Rand Paul (who has tested positive for coronavirus), Mike Lee, Mitt Romney, Cory Gardner and Rick Scott.

That means that the 53-47 GOP majority is now reduced to 48-47. A stimulus bill will need 60 votes to pass in the Senate, meaning it will have to have substantial bipartisan support to get to 60.
As the Chinese curse; may you live in interesting times......

The same as in Switzerland? General politics kind of stopped too.
As the Americans do not have 6 equally entitled politicians besides their president it will be down to ...........

Trump.

Now I know this is blackest thoughts available: But are all candidates very, very old people who might not make it for the elections?

Yes, it is possible that Trump and the leading Dem candidates could succumb to the virus due to age

I assume they are well protected but they have to meet a lot of people every day so they are at high risk.
It is not a role where they can isolate at home.

Re: Will Trump be a Good President?

Quote:
As coronavirus hits the Senate — with one senator now diagnosed and four others self-quarantining — a key procedural vote to advance a massive stimulus package failed on Sunday evening.

Senate Democrats lined up against it, injecting fresh uncertainty over whether and when lawmakers will reach a bipartisan deal to deliver relief amid the devastating coronavirus pandemic.
The vote was 47-47. Lawmakers needed to clear a 60-vote threshold to succeed.

Democrats have argued that Republicans are prioritizing corporate industry over American workers in the legislation.
Source

As Trump continues to attack Dems with tweets it is difficult to see when a bipartisan deal can be accomplished.

The orange clown needs to spend more time pulling the country together.
