I gave you the opportunity to provide some facts to support your complaints about alleged Democrat additions to the Senate Bill; no problem if you do not want to.

I did a search through the Bill and did not find the add-ons you mention.
To be fair, I think the add ons are to the House Bill, not the Senate

You read through the entire bill Marton? You need to reread as not just one but several outlets have stated what I posted.

I have not the time nor inclination to read through the 1400 page bill but given that the WSJ published this as didi WaPo, I am fairly certain that those inclusions are there and NOT "fake" news. Can you go through the bill and prove that they are not there?

No, I did not read the whole bill. I just used the search function on keywords.

This whole conversation so far was about the Senate Bill.

You can read the House bill also
https://apps.npr.org/documents/docum...NAL-HOUSE-BILL

This House bill does have at least some of the add-ons mentioned.

One sticking point for the Dems in the Senate Bill was the rules around the 500 $Billion fund to support Corporations; I assume they did not want it all going to the Trump Organisation

Wrong on all levels. How dare you make that statement! I am registered independent and you have zero clue! But keep trying and not reading anything which does not suit your own narrative...

Pretty damning view of both the White House and the American political scene in general.

And of course Americans are rushing out to buy more guns - as if that's going to do any good against the virus.

And Pelosi's proposed new bill in the House includes voter registration mandates, green gas emissions and a provision that Companies would be required to disclose stats of their Board based on race, gender and ethnicity How do these new inclusions have anything to do with the coronavirus and its effect on small businesses?
They don't; it's simply about gaining power as always.

Re: Will Trump be a Good President?

As I suggested yesterday
Quote:
The stimulus legislation prohibits federally elected officials and their immediate relatives from obtaining funds from the Treasury Secretary’s $500 billion program, according to a draft copy of the bill text.

This was a key provision for Democrats concerned that Trump would provide funds to his personal businesses in the stimulus package.

Re: Will Trump be a Good President?

They are all as bad as each other
Quote:
A group of Republican senators are warning they will oppose fast-tracking a mammoth coronavirus stimulus package as they push for changes to a "drafting error" related to the bill's bolstered unemployment benefits.

Sens. Tim Scott (R-S.C.), Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) and Ben Sasse (R-Neb.) said there was a "massive drafting error" within the package that would have "devastating consequences."

"Unless this bill is fixed, there is a strong incentive for employees to be laid off instead of going to work. ... We must sadly oppose the fast-tracking of this bill until this text is addressed.

The spread of the coronavirus in North America is several days behind Europe, which in turn is behind Asia. I hate to say it, but I think there will be a large uptick in cases in the US in the coming days. Whether they will be diagnosed and recorded is another matter.

Let's check back here in a week and see what the situation is.
So I'm a few.days late in revisiting this, but the US is about to "lead the free world" in number of coronavirus cases (almost half of them in New York, alone), with the number of deaths rapidly mounting, too.

Seems like the perfect time to stick your head in the sand and reopen the country for business.

Re: Will Trump be a Good President?

Over 3 million new unemployment claims the last week.
The Bill that is passing through Congress to provide $2 Trillion (plus $4 Trillion for the Fed reserve) stimulus is proceeding OK but how long it will be before the actual authorised money is really in the hands of the people and companies that need it is not known.

It will definitely soon be in the hands of people and companies, but certainly not the ones that need it.

Sorry but the fact that the government are in effect nationalizing airlines to me is a good thing. American Airlines with their share buyback initiative for the last 6-8 years, shame on them! They deserve to be nationalized! They in effect paid themselves thinking they/the airline industry would never succumb to a downturn.

I actually think this stimulus plan is quite fair and will help the economy and small businesses.

That said, it should have been passed last Saturday/Sunday and now we still await House approval

I‘m really cynical about US business. But, I hope the stimulus works.
