Poor old Grandpaw getting confused again

General Motors sold the shuttered Lordstown facility in November 2019.
Trump had applauded the potential sale in a tweet in May 2019.

General Motors said last Friday some of the ventilators will be built in GM's Kokomo, Indiana, electronics assembly plant. The first of these ventilators are expected to be delivered in April.

Ford has announced it is working with GE Healthcare to increase the production of GE's ventilators, GE Healthcare said it is planning to double its output by the end of June.

All companies are looking for alternative suppliers of the parts needed to make ventilators to avoid supply bottlenecks.
I guess if Ford and General motors are making these things, they'll be a derivative of this or a similar design.

If they do try to do something more modern, they will find anyway that supply chains go back deep into China, so they might as well, from the outset, follow the example of the British when asked to supply components for a top secret part of the F35 fighter jet program. That is, they outsourced the job to a Chinese company.

https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/201...-fighter-jets/

Incidentally, I did a quick search on www.alibaba.com with the search phrase "Breathing Apparatus hospital". The range is amazing and I expect Ford and GM would be horrified to see such low prices although, clearly, caveat emptor is in order on that site.

I know the feeling, agonising over whether to adorn one of my little witticisms (these can still happen from time to time) with a few emojis to make sure it doesn't get too overlooked. In fact, this could be used as a sort of barometer of the intellectual level of the forum indicating the number of users who are still bright enough to elicit some response from.
On this theme, I'm pleased to see that some users were quick witted enough to respond to my joke roughly on the lines of: "don't hold your breath waiting for ..... ventilators". For those who missed it the first time around, there is still time to demonstrate, with an acknowledgement, they are still with it. It is post #21797 on the previous page.
Top intellectual level is demonstrated by those who put you on the ignore list? :no emoji:

Sure about that? I mean we can dream but people in this kind of situation tend to stick with the "known" they will simply follow the herd and vote the bugger in again.

I fear you may be right. I've watched a number of videos of Biden where he appears confused when asked off-piste questions, and even reading off a teleprompter seems beyond him.

Blimey, those mods are fast these days. When I was gonna reply to this post it was gone - but even the multi-quote button was still lit.
It was easy to find though - the shifting makes sense.

However, replacing one geriatric with an other in the white house is the strangest idea to me. I didn't know there were no Americans left under the age of 50? They all emigrated?

I'm not bashing elderlies here. I just truly believe there is a time and a place for everyone. Presidency is not for them.

No they don't. Or shouldn't. The only difference with home-office is that the boss doesn't breath down their necks every half an hour.

Re: Will Trump be a Good President?

Trump speaking truth

Quote:
Donald Trump admitted on Monday that making it easier to vote in America would hurt the Republican party.

The president made the comments as he dismissed a Democratic-led push for reforms such as vote-by-mail, same-day registration and early voting as states seek to safely run elections amid the Covid-19 pandemic.

“The things they had in there were crazy. They had things, levels of voting that if you’d ever agreed to it, you’d never have a Republican elected in this country again,” Trump said during an appearance on Fox & Friends.
Source

Seems voter suppression is part of Trump's re-election strategy.

DOJ watchdog finds additional problems with FBI's surveillance warrant process

and now the most cynical political statement in recent days.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell suggested on Tuesday that the impeachment trial of President Donald Trump distracted the US government from the growing coronavirus crisis in China.

Not that Trump fell asleep at the wheel.

Trump chaos

Trump, you incompetent idiot! You sent 18 tons of PPE to China early but ignored warnings & called COVID19 concerns a hoax.
You've endangered doctors, nurses, aids, orderlies, & janitors - all risking their lives to save ours. Pray 4 forgiveness for the harm that you're causing!

Last week, a Trump administration official working to secure much-needed protective gear for doctors and nurses in the United States asked the Thais for help—only to be informed by the puzzled voices on the other side of the line that a U.S. shipment of the same supplies, the second of two so far, was already on its way to Bangkok.
Meanwhile, it is claimed that yesterday CNN did not air Trump’s intro to his coronavirus taskforce press conference.
They only started airing it when Dr. Fauci and Dr. Birx started speaking.
Don't know if this is true or an April 1st joke.
