One way of writing your resignation letter.
Quote:
National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases Director Anthony Fauci on Wednesday became the first Trump administration official to say definitively that hydroxychloroquine is not an effective treatment for the coronavirus, based on the available data.

"The scientific data is really quite evident now about the lack of efficacy," Fauci — the U.S. government's top infectious disease expert — said on CNN.

Twitter is finally treating Trump like they treat everyone else and has marked a lying tweet, Spanky did not like this!

This how they marked his tweet.

They added a link "Get the facts about mail-in ballots" so people can check the tweet.

Trump is claiming "will not allow it to happen" but how is not clear. Twitter is a private organisation so are not required to allow "free speech" they can block or add comments to any tweet.
A federal appeals court is rejecting claims that tech companies like Facebook, Google, Twitter and Apple have conspired to suppress conservative viewpoints on their platforms.

The court concluded in its decision that Freedom Watch failed to offer a satisfactory First Amendment claim against the Silicon Valley giants, noting that "in general, the First Amendment 'prohibits only governmental abridgment of speech.'"

I think he will ditch Twitter soon enough. They censor. And they lost credibility long time ago, not because of Trump or his followers but because they censor.
Cool, he can go to one of those alternate social media platforms their patrons want so desperately to be hyped, but never take off because they’re rife with nazis and just general credulous idiots

There’s plenty of alternatives, i like to think of it as a pub, you don’t go to the ones full of ****holes, but they do exist

Re: Will Trump be a Good President?

Usually, the Rasmussen poll shows Trump in a very favourable light, even up to 52% approval.
Quote:
President Trump's job approval sank toward a two-year low on Wednesday, according to a survey from the right-leaning polling firm Rasmussen.

The poll released Wednesday shows 42 percent of likely U.S. voters approve of Trump's job performance, while 57 percent disapprove.

This gives him a Presidential Approval Index rating of -17 based on "strongly approve" of 30% versus strongly disapprove of 47%
Source

Usually, the people rally around the President at a time of national crisis like the pandemic but Trump has somehow managed to lose such traditional support, note; end of January and in February his approval was around 50%..

Re: Will Trump be a Good President?

President Trump signed an executive order Thursday aimed at increasing the ability of the government to regulate social media platforms.

The brunt of Trump's focus has been on Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act, a law that gives platforms legal immunity for content posted by third-party users while also giving them cover to make good-faith efforts to moderate their platforms.
I am not sure I understand this?

If the law is changed to remove legal immunity for content posted by third-party users then likely Twitter will remove such risky third-party users, like Trump for example?

Or maybe I got it wrong?

Anyway Trump cannot change the law without Congress.

Good of Trump to keep tweeting about election fraud, for example

How do mainstream conservatives deal with it now? Pretty much all the evidence was on the side that they were morally banckrupt on just siding with him, but now the evidence is irrefutable

Why don't the folks at Twitter delete Trumps Twitter account if they don't like him?

Yesterday, for the first time, Twitter blocked access to a Trump tweet that was threatening to send the National Guard into Minneapolis with some sort of meandering commentary about looting and shooting; this was reference the George Floyd death

Not yesterday, just 2 hours ago and they decided not to remove it in the end:

This Tweet violated the Twitter Rules about glorifying violence. However, Twitter has determined that it may be in the public’s interest for the Tweet to remain accessible.

Accessible, but not initially visible until you click a link to view the tweet. This is a reasonably brave move by Twitter, but they left another all-caps tweet about fraudulent postal voting and the subsequent death of the Republican party untouched.

Certainly a brave move.

Trump inadvertently, or advertently, admitting that only gerrymandering keeps the Republican party in power.

Alternatively, he might be claiming that election fraud would defeat the GOP despite the fact that most of the few election fraud cases involved fraud by the GOP.

You're funny, omtatsat. Of course they like him, they liked him for four years by now....

If I want to be mean I could say they have a small disagreement now so they can't be accused later on for allowing their platform become his personal playground. But of course, I wouldn't know. I think what happens is ridiculous.

According to their claims the Republicans are very fiscally conservative.

They will always fight spending ever more, and never brag about however much does need spending.

At least that's what they keep claiming.

It makes people think less of what he's actually done during his presidency.

The Twitter "scandal" could be another diversion.

I don't have any beef here (I do have family and friends there but most of them are super cool with everything because they're not into politics ), but it's kinda of sad to see the pattern is quickly adopted in many other countries.

Nah! Those days are long gone.
Now we have "diverging views", "encouraging debate" and ignoring phony posts despite the rules clarification provided in a recently closed thread.
