I think we've had the answer for almost 4 years... (and most disturbingly will have it for another 4)
I think Trump may have blown his chances now after his inaction on the riots taking place.

I really really really really hope you’ll turn out to be right.

Personally I believe he may keep his voter base but will very much fail to get additional votes. That may be just enough, but I’m not quite confident yet.

The question will be if the other guys can get enough people out to the polls. Which is why Trump is desperately trying to suppress the voters.

Voting turnout in the US is almost as bad as in Switzerland

Re: Will Trump be a Good President?

Trump decided to hold a photo op in front of a church near the White House that was burned during the riots.

What did the Bishop of the church think?
Quote:
Mariann Budde@Mebudde

Tonight President just used a Bible and a church of my diocese as a backdrop for a message antithetical to the teachings of Jesus and everything that our church stands for.
To do so, he sanctioned the use of tear gas by police officers in riot gear to clear the churchyard.

I wonder if anything could have happened differently, considering how old/deep this issue is.

Protesters are only a fraction of the people and generally speaking, "normal folks" regardless of race are fed up with the riots and the looting.

You missed that he ordered tear gas and rubber bullets used on peaceful protesters to clear the way for him.

So sure?

So why has Biden's poll lead increased by 5 points in the last days?

Shit, I don't know why. Biden wouldn't know his ass from his head. Do you honestly think that the wide majority of people are in support of those out of control looters? I highly doubt. People got enough on their plate with Corona, they don't need this nonsense.

What is counterproductive is that the riots/looting are in the neighborhoods that belong to these communities...the shop owners put their lifetimes into supporting the community business and are getting their shops burned.

Try this then...:
Quote:
Asked to characterize the motives of the demonstrators, Americans were torn, with 43 percent attributing the unrest to “a genuine desire to hold police officers accountable” and 40 percent chalking it up to “a long-standing bias against the police.”

Thanks but that was mentioned in the Bishop's message I attached, nevertheless a message worth repeating multiple times.

Certainly, the riots and the looting are spoiling the protests, hopefully people still see the main issue.

Since Trump failed to calm things down we will never know.

Threatening to bring in the military is only inflaming this rotten situation, it would be a shame for Trump if they refused to fire on fellow citizens or took the knee.
Usually, dictators are reluctant to bring in the military in case they turn on them.

At one point Trump seemed to be hinting about wanting counter-demonstrators at the White House but that plea for civil war seems to have fallen on deaf ears

After the results from 2016, I take any poll with a grain of salt. Trump supporters admitted they lied to pollsters and said they supported Clinton. Thus why the Ds thought they had the election in the bag and were stunned by the result.

Not all people lied to mislead, btw. Many lied because back then it wasn't popular to be known as a Trump supporter in some places. It was just safer to say you were voting Clinton.

Regardless of the outcome of the polls, I think that neither Trump nor Biden is capable to run that country through these times. If both would have any wisdom, they would step out of the race.

The polls were pretty much spot on in 2016. They predict/measure the popular vote, not the electors.
