Where are all those ar15 weilding guys who were protesting tyranny because they couldn’t get haircuts? The us police treated them real nice, kinda like, well
Those protesters were white, and some of them were carrying guns.

As for epidemics/pandemics IMO there should be a new system (similar to tsunami warning system if you want) through which countries could alert each other and collaborate.
Here's a suggestion for an early step in that warning system: Check sanity of the president of the USA.

He's addicted to the attention and validation ("likes") that he receives on Twitter. That is clearly a sign of insanity right there -- over 200 tweets in one day. It's like watching someone slip deeper and deeper into insanity, and he so eagerly puts it all on display.

Of course. Narcissist. Too bad he doesn't realize very few actually validate his crap (a few 100k likes if that - it's usually significantly less- in a population of 330m in the US alone isn't a lot. But then again we all know he is incapable of understanding anything that resembles logic).

Then again don't think we needed proof for his insanity. It was obvious all along.

I wonder how much more time it will take until folks finally call for removal from office.

Can't say I'm hating that the tides have FINALLY turned and you see critical voices, to put it mildly, even from those who normally stay out of it.

While I agree with you in principle, not all of his supporters are red necks. Some have deep pockets and some have strong anti globalist beliefs, and some have a really interesting view of reality.

I think he supports distraction, division and derision, and if that results in violence, so be it. I can’t decide if he’s truly racist or just sees it as a means to an end. Mostly what he supports is himself,

Re: Will Trump be a Good President?

Trump does not, of course, read the small print.
Quote:
The BLS monthly job report showed the US unemployment rate fell to 13.3% in May.

BLS, however, noted its data collectors — for the third month in a row — misclassified some workers as "employed not at work," when they should have been classified as "unemployed on temporary layoff."

Barring that issue, the unemployment rate could have been as high as 19.2% in April and 16.1% in May, BLS said.
Oooppss, lucky for Spanky.

This reminds me Hillary's view of reality. Shaming regular voters for their political preferences instead of trying to understand them.

I don't think she did that. The problem was the Republican Spin Machine which took a few quotes and spun them into something they weren't. All the while, Trump was playing dirty politics and got away with it.

It sounds nice, but have you seen how many people walk in front of traffic looking at their phones?

Millions of people around the world are hopelessly distracted and easily swayed; few take the time to think critically and form rational arguments. Why should they? They found a site or viewpoint that confirms what they already believe. Job done.

Few are violent, but those that do loot and commit violent acts are more likely to get the clicks and views that "news" outlets crave.

I respect your opinion, and agree with a lot that you post. But not with the one I just quoted.

If dirty politics is politicians being strategic, then yes. Completely.

In the scale of authenticity - he appears genuine to people. You may add whatever after the "genuine .....", but it looks like people trusted more a "genuine .....", than not. Trump, BJ et al. are being studied by polit/sociologists, I think they are a phenomenon.

Spin machine = social media, imho. Twitter will not be trusted (it really isn't) if they keep pulling down Trump's tweets. I also think a potus cannot push out 200 tweets a day. I said it months/years ago here, he's got social media strategy/team. Twitter banning his stuff helps him.

He clearly lacks any reason, empathy and intelligence (which is why I'm 100% serious when I call him a sociopath and psychopath), but he is clever in the sense that he's a cunning manipulator and no low is low enough for him to sink to. I believe he is racist (plus a xenophobe and misogynist), however has mainly played with racism given the majority of his voter base falls into a particular category where that shit works like charm. I would have even granted him a smidge of benefit of the doubt on the racism front had he had the decency to address and condemn Floyd's death even once. But alas, he didn't.

With everything else happening I missed that the US National Football league (NFL) has now reversed their decision and will allow players to kneel in protest.

Spanky is furious about this but it was lost in his tweetstorm.

I’d sooner vote for either Bush than Trump (not that I can vote, but if I could). And a tuna fish sandwich is considerably less dangerous. I’d rather see zero change than change for the much, much worse.

Trump went way beyond the conventional "dirty politics".....unfortunately.

Will never ever understand the Rep.'s choice. It does seem they want to sway voters away from politics.

There was a time (I heard, I have never lived it personally) when politics also meant debate, rational arguments. It's a sad, sad circus what we see. I can only describe it as a strategy of distraction and divisiveness. (btw, the Dems. probably have their fair share too...no doubt)

Twitter allowed him to do whatever he wanted so far, don't see the reason for which they don't do that anymore. That's just ridiculous imo.

Besides everyone can see for themselves, no media stories as interface.
