Re: Will Trump be a Good President?

Thin-skinned President reacts to claims a video shows him walking very slowly down a ramp after his West Point speech.
Quote:
Donald J. Trump@realDonaldTrump

The ramp that I descended after my West Point Commencement speech was very long & steep, had no handrail and, most importantly, was very slippery.

The last thing I was going to do is “fall” for the Fake News to have fun with. Final ten feet I ran down to level ground.
Momentum!

Is this the first time a draft dodger addressed the West Point Commencement?

Edit; Many people have raised concerns about Trump's health after this video showing his difficulty drinking a glass of water at West Point.

No, Bush43 and Clinton both addressed West Point too. During the election campaigns both were called draft dodgers.

Trump's Twitter reaction is typical, but I don't see any smoking guns in those video clips. The ramp was obviously steep and should have had a railing. With the glass of water, he was trying to keep his eye on the teleprompter so he wouldn't lose his place. He couldn't look at the glass to see how full it was to make sure he didn't pour it down his front, so he used his second hand to gauge the weight and guide it carefully to his mouth.

To me Trump walks like a man younger than his age, with big strides that are confident and with a mostly straight back. He looks tired a lot, but what president doesn't? He turns 74 today.

Biden on the other hand, he walks like a doddering old man. He takes short, cautious steps and bends forward a bit more than Trump even when he's on a flat, solid surface. Then again he's 77 and will turn 78 shortly after the election.

I do think discussions about their ages and health are relevant, but I also think the media is looking for any little thing to cast doubt on Trump. It perfectly feeds into his narrative of bias, but the media can't help itself.

Re: Will Trump be a Good President?

Spanky's cult trying to widen divisions in America by supporting his false claims the demonstration in Seattle is domestic terrorism.

Quote:
Fox News published digitally altered and misleading images of Seattle demonstrations in which a group of largely peaceful Black Lives Matter protesters has occupied six city blocks, to appear violent and dangerous.

The Seattle Times reported that when it asked Fox News about the images, the network removed them.

Among the photos that Fox News published on its homepage was one that showed a protester running past a burning vehicle and building with the headline "CRAZY TOWN" blaring across the website. The image, which accompanied a story about the situation in Seattle, was in fact taken from the unrest last month in Minnesota.

Bush43 was in the 147th Fighter-Interceptor Group of the Texas Air National Guard.

Watching the video, is that what Trump calls "running"? And his idea of 10' must be modelled on his concept that his hands are normal size.

Actually he no longer knows where his mouth is. One of the early signs of senility. Sad but true!

And of course his " baby hands " don't help. They probably gave him a big glass just to embarass him

10 degrees is 17.6%. If it were a road, it would be pretty steep.

At 14:12. It actually looks like he was tired halfway.

Re: Will Trump be a Good President?

Maybe appointing Justice Neil Gorsuch as a Supreme court justice was not so bad as people feared!
Quote:
The Supreme Court on Monday ruled 6-3 in a landmark decision that gay and transgender employees are protected by civil rights laws against employment discrimination.

A set of cases that came before the court had asked the justices to decide whether Title VII of the 1964 Civil Rights Act, which forbids discrimination on the basis of "sex," applies to gay and transgender people.

Justice Neil Gorsuch, who wrote the opinion for the six-member majority, said that it does.

Justices Samuel Alito, Brett Kavanaugh and Clarence Thomas dissented from the decision.
Seems Kavanaugh is all that was feared

During his Senate review for the job, Kavanaugh refused to say whether he agreed with the SCOTUS decision ruling LGBTQ couples have a constitutional right to marry.

Edit; here is a video of Biden tackling the West Point ramp four years ago when he was older than Trump is now.
Video from Twitter so hope everybody can view it.

Hope Trump's scandalous medical advice did not kill too many people

Quote:
The Food and Drug Administration has revoked its emergency use authorization for the drugs hydroxychloroquine and chloroquine for the treatment of Covid-19.

Hydroxychloroquine was frequently touted by President Donald Trump, and he has claimed to have used it himself.

After reviewing the current research available on the drugs, the FDA determined that the drugs do not meet "the statutory criteria" for emergency use authorization as they are unlikely to be effective in treating Covid-19 based on the latest scientific evidence, the agency noted on its website on Monday.

Re: Will Trump be a Good President?

Interesting!
Quote:
Prosecutor who quit Roger Stone case to testify before Congress on June 24 about 'politicization' of DOJ

Zelinsky, a DOJ official who served as an attorney in the special counsel's office during its investigation into Russian meddling in the 2016 election, was among the group of four prosecutors who withdrew from the case against Stone after the department overruled their sentencing recommendation in favor of a more lenient punishment earlier this year.
Source

It was an extraordinary DOJ decision to reduce the sentencing recommendation that had followed the DOJ guidelines.

Meanwhile, new polls are showing Biden ever more ahead of Trump, of course it is a long time until November.

Re: Will Trump be a Good President?

This is hilarious.

"I will consider every conversation with me as president highly classified," Mr Trump told reporters on Monday. "So that would mean that if he wrote a book and if the book gets out, he's broken the law and I would think he would have criminal problems."

So all those tweets he puts out are highly classified and since they're out I guess he and us are all breaking the law.

And then there's this also to read.

I couldn’t imagine being able to read either of these two books. Too depressing.

Nah, not really interested.

I have a pile of much more interesting books that, for some reason, remained unopened during corona "lockdown". Had enough of Trump.

Oh, and one of them is written by a family member. Shouldn't these people wash their dirty laundry more privately? Like, just saying.

Luckily for me the US is a long way away and I can view it like visiting a zoo
Quote:
The Lincoln Project, a Republican super PAC partly run by George Conway, released an ad Tuesday night suggesting the president is not physically well, underscoring his recent appearance at West Point where he appeared to walk gingerly down a ramp after giving a speech.

“Something’s wrong with Donald Trump. He’s shaky, weak, trouble speaking, trouble walking. So why aren’t we talking about this?” a narrator asks in the 45-second clip. “The most powerful office in the world needs more than a weak, unfit, shaky president. Trump doesn’t have the strength to lead, nor the character to admit it.”

“We’re not doctors, but we’re not blind. It’s time we talk about this.”

It is a youtube video so it starts with an ad.
