Agreed.

How Trump will arrange that anyone protesting in Oklahoma during his rally will be met with force is not known.

Trump has no control over the local police force.

Maybe he is planning to fly in his own storm troopers?
Maybe he'll call Space Force.

He is the Supreme Commander of the Imperial Forces...

Re: Will Trump be a Good President?

No SpaceForce, just storm troopers
Quote:
As many as 250 Oklahoma Army National Guard soldiers are being activated to help provide security during President Donald Trump’s campaign rally Saturday in Tulsa, authorities said Wednesday.

Tulsa Police Chief Wendell Franklin said the Guardsmen will be used as a “force multiplier” to help secure safety zones around the downtown BOK Center where the rally is to be held.

The Guardsmen will be unarmed but will carry shields, batons and pepper spray in case they need to protect themselves, said Guard spokesman Lt. Col. Geoff Legler.

Franklin says officers from multiple local, state and federal law enforcement agencies also will help provide security and that several blocks downtown will be closed for Saturday’s event.
So, storm troopers versus peaceful protestors

So Trump shares a video on Twitter that was doctored to say it had been originally reported on CNN as a black toddler running away from a racist white toddler, and Trump and the video claim it was CNN reporting fake news because the toddlers were actually best friends. The video shared by Trump was also trying to warn people about the danger of fake news.

So Trump uses that to try to accuse CNN of spreading fake news, when IN REALITY, this is what CNN had actually posted -- a video showing the two toddlers as being best friends:

https://edition.cnn.com/2019/09/10/u...rnd/index.html

Talk about backfiring. There Trump had tried to accuse CNN of spreading fake news when in reality, it's HIM that is spreading fake news. He shared a video that was intentionally doctored to make it appear that CNN was spreading fake news when in truth they had done the very opposite.

He should really do the world a favor and delete his Twitter account.
A parent of the toddlers has now forced Facebook to remove the video, lodged a copyright claim.

The Justice Department said in a press release that it is replacing Geoffrey Berman, the powerful prosecutor for the Southern District of New York who ran the probe that sent Trump’s former personal lawyer Michael Cohen to prison and is investigating his current personal attorney, Rudy Giuliani.

Berman pushed back and said he was not "stepping down" until a presidentially-appointed nominee is confirmed by the Senate, according to a statement from his office. He also said he found out he was being replaced when he read the Justice Department's press release.

The Trump Death Clock truck moved in to join the camaraderie in Tulsa, Okla., ahead of President Trump's rally there Saturday evening.

The truck displays digital statistics on three different faces of the vehicle, delivering a real-time tracker of alleged needless American deaths due to Trump's response to the coronavirus pandemic.

The mobilized clock is strategically placed outside the BOK Center, where Trump's rally is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. CT on Saturday.
The tracker currently suggests that around 71,700 American deaths could have been avoided had the administration acted sooner in response to the pandemic.

Well, that's a tyrant for you... People aren't allowed to criticize them. Trump uses his Twitter account as a means of bullying people and repeatedly lies and twists the truth, and yet when a book is written about him that casts him in a bad light, he throws a tantrum about it.

And I thought it was us liberals who are the "snowflakes."

More good news from Facebook

Quote:
Facebook on Thursday took down Trump campaign ads against antifa that prominently featured a symbol used by Nazis to designate political prisoners, a spokesperson for the company confirmed to The Hill.

“We removed these posts and ads for violating our policy against organized hate," Facebook said in a statement.

"Our policy prohibits using a banned hate group's symbol to identify political prisoners without the context that condemns or discusses the symbol.”
The crazy thing is that Trump's opponents should all try to get as many ads thrown at themselves as possible. The more that happens (and the more links they follow) the more it costs him.

Re: Will Trump be a Good President?

Trump is being widely mocked in social media due to the poor turnout at his Tulsa rally. Hopefully, people recognised the virus risk of this event.
Typical photo of the arena below, there are also videos of the actual speeches which show the huge empty seating areas.

Pence and Trump cancelled their plan to speak at the outdoor overflow area which was empty, here a CNN photo of the overflow around an hour before the rally start time. Edit: the screen at the overflow area which showed the actual indoor rally also showed some of the empty seating areas.
Name: Tulsa2.jpg
Views: 198
Size: 218.4 KB

There were plenty of protestors but so far no reports of violence I am happy to say.

Edit: After Trump finished speaking, a source told CNN that two Secret Service agents had also tested positive for coronavirus. Of course, six of Trump's own rally team had also tested positive and were confined to their Tulsa hotel rooms.
Seems like the event did not recharge Trump's campaign as was hoped.

Although Barr had said Friday that he would install Craig Carpenito, to serve as Berman's acting replacement, the attorney general's letter Saturday noted that "by operation of law," Berman's current deputy, Audrey Strauss, will become acting US attorney.
"I anticipate that she will serve in that capacity until a permanent successor is in place," Barr wrote.
Berman's strategy of refusing to resign paid off for his former office. In a victory lap, Berman said he was leaving "In light of Attorney General Barr's decision to respect the normal operation of law" by appointing Strauss.
It seems to be a victory for SDNY and a return to business as usual, what Barr actually achieved seems to have been very little. Senate Republicans have signalled they have no enthusiasm to quickly appoint Barr's successor so "business as usual" for the foreseeable future..

Re: Will Trump be a Good President?

I read earlier that there was supposedly some kind of plot via the site Tik-Tok where users (primarily teenagers) were signing up to attend the rally but then intentionally not showing up for it in order to produce so many empty seats. But I have no idea if that's really the case. Trump and his campaign are denying it.

https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-53129524

It does seem a bit odd that such a plot could exist -- on such a scale -- that Trump's campaign or the media never would have found out about it in advance.

What I find to be the most creepy (and bizarre) is that Trump expected so many people to show up for his rally and not care about potentially contracting the virus because of it. The # of cases in Oklahoma has been dramatically rising since around the 1st of June.
