So Trump is not off this hook yet, but likely no final decision before the election.
I think everyone already knows he is a crook. Some people just don't care.

Another poor day in Court for the Trumps

Quote:
A federal appeals court ruled Monday that the Trump administration cannot withhold federal grants from California sanctuary cities, affirming previous rulings in the state.
Source

The Supreme Court declined a request by the administration to review sanctuary laws in California cities last month. The denial allowed lower California court rulings against the administration to stand.

Quote:
A New York judge on Monday lifted a temporary restraining order preventing Mary Trump from discussing her forthcoming tell-all book about her uncle President Trump and their family on the eve of the memoir’s release.

Greenwald in the 20-page decision dismissed Robert Trump’s argument that Mary Trump’s book violated a 2001 contract signed by the family, describing the agreement as written as overly broad.

The NYTs seven-day average is still increasing ...

I think we are about to see dramatic increases in the death rates as we saw dramatic increases in the infection rates a couple of weeks ago.

No - I actually think that some people think that Trump's alternatives aren't lesser crooks.

Re: Will Trump be a Good President?

Trump built his entire fortune by being a crook. He is a financial con artist. He would take out huge, multi-million dollar loans, demand a very long tax deferment, build hotels and casinos with those loans and reap in the profits from them, and then when it came time to start paying back those loans, he would file bankruptcy. He would also not pay the contractors, etc. who built those hotels and casinos for him.

So who exactly are the alternatives that are considered to not be lesser crooks than Trump? And why?

Re: Will Trump be a Good President?

If anyine is interested in what the situation in Texas is, they should read this article from the NY Times

It is a fairly long read but it does give context into what is really happening in Texas and the US.

How does this relate to Trump being a Good President? Well read on ...

White House tells hospitals to bypass CDC on COVID-19 data reporting

Hospitals will begin sending coronavirus-related information directly to the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), not the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), under new instructions from the Trump administration.
Source

Hopefully, this change will not impact the transparency and immediacy of these reports.

Worldometer shows 65K new US cases yesterday and deaths back up at 935.
The COVID tracking project is showing 63,000 new cases and 736 deaths.
Edit; Johns Hopkins reported 67,417 new confirmed cases and 900 deaths.

Former Attorney General Jeff Sessions failed badly in his bid to reclaim his old Senate seat, another Trump victim despite being the first Senator to publically support Trump.

Meanwhile, Trump adviser knocks Fauci: Wrong about 'everything'
Quote:
In an op-ed published in USA Today, White House trade adviser Peter Navarro asserted that Fauci was “wrong about everything I have interacted with him on.”

Navarro argued in his op-ed that Fauci was wrong to say there was only anecdotal evidence in support of using hydroxychloroquine to treat COVID-19. This despite in mid-June, the US Food and Drug Administration ruled that it would withdraw emergency use authorization for the drug, citing at the time that data showed no difference in patients with COVID-19 who took the drug and those who did not.

He also furthered a White House narrative that the declining mortality rate puts the country in a good place to continue reopening. This despite current indications that the mortality rate is sadly rising again.
Source

Basically a poorly-executed hatchet job that really does not demonstrate anything other than scientific opinion is not carved in stone but changes when new evidence is available.

Seems that karma IS a b*tch, after all. That's what happens when you support a crook.

It was always a strange decision. International students contributed $45 billion to the U.S. economy in 2018, according to the U.S. Department of Commerce.

That is a big chunk of change to walk away from!

Finally some leadership from the excited states. Walmart has decided to require masks by shoppers in all of its US stores.

And in another twist
Quote:
The White House on Wednesday distanced itself from an op-ed by trade adviser Peter Navarro questioning the credibility of Anthony Fauci, the government's top infectious diseases expert.

"The Peter Navarro op-ed didn’t go through normal White House clearance processes and is the opinion of Peter alone," White House director of strategic communications Alyssa Farah tweeted
Source

This administration could not organise a p#ss up in a brewery never mind managing a major pandemic.

If it was Peter's opinion only then why did the article state "Peter Navarro, an assistant to the president, is the director of the Office of Trade and Manufacturing Policy. "?

Obama is most suitable for a President, at least he done some for the poorest and brought the USA out of 2008 crisis. People have to take wheel out of the hands of orange kido and handed to a proper adult.

Re: Will Trump be a Good President?

Perhaps not directly related to Trump, but... I just saw in the news that the (Republican) governor of Oklahoma, Kevin Stitt, has just tested positive for the coronavirus. And yet he is still refusing to even consider making masks mandatory in his state. He said today that he is "hesitant to mandate something that is problematic to enforce."

Stitt had attended Trump's rally in Oklahoma last month. He is the first governor to have been diagnosed with the virus.
