Reporting facts that may be interpreted in one way or another - depraved.
That's a truism that facts get interpreted differently by different people. If it weren't everybody would be of the same opinion.

Re: Will Trump be a Good President?

Just watched the Franken / deVos debacle.

I think I'm more qualified to be Education Secretary than she is. Well, I would be if my daddy had donated $200m to the people what make dem decisions.

Swamp restocked.

Listening to Jon Voight's speech. This is weirdly awkward for such a normally polished actor. It doesn't sound genuine.

Perhaps he had no one to write his material - not so great off the cuff.

It really is shocking, each cabinet pick is worse and less qualified than the last. Or in the words of our resident Trump supporters, "hilarious".

Buckle up America, hope you brought lube.

A good mate from the UK has sent out a rock / metal playlist for the inauguration and I spent last night honing it with an American mate. Just a taster...

Enter Sandman - Metallica
The Number of the Beast - Iron Miaden
Crazy Train - Ozzy
War Pigs - Black Sabbath

Re: Will Trump be a Good President?

All his cabinet picks are people who have clashed with those departments. Some have even called for the elimination of the agencies they are nominated for.

This is designed to shake it up and clean it out. He'll try to structure a performance based government that works for its people, not one that tries to lord their authority over the people. Anyone that doesn't work out and perform, you fire them.

We should see a higher performing and more competitive US, with a leaner government as a result.

Will Obama have left such an open and congenial letter for Trump?

Yeah, I wonder where all the class went. Or maybe Bill Clinton didn't spend years fanning the flames of conspiracy theories about GHWB not being born in the US. Please remain in "it's all a big joke" mode, no one buys this shit.

Maybe that is how it was at the beginning, before the Alpha males and females moved in. Yes lets hope for a leaner government. Don't see it happening though.

Anyway I think Trumps choice for UN ambassador was OK. Interesting that she is planning to go to Syria on a fact finding mission. Reminds me of the Indian prince Visiting the people for the first time. Imagine the frantic work going on there to hide evidence.

Re: Will Trump be a Good President?

He's a businessman, not an anti-business man. The focus here is on more intelligent deals.

He has a pathway to change the US from a pseudo-Social State to an enterprise state geared towards value creation. They will probably cut a lot of programs that do not deliver measurable value. Things like the National Endowment of the Arts will likely get cut.

Its a new take on the US dealing with new economic realities. Its actually a sign of intelligence.

Countries and Organisations that aren't willing to change, such as the EU, will be compelled to change or become irrelevant. I'd give the EU no more than 2 years to change its attitude or crack up.

I was under the impression that it had more to do with scaling back on the...

1. Bombing back to the Stone Age.

2. Get them to pay for bombing with oil etc.

3. Send in the corporations to rebuild.

4. Make them pay for the re-building process.

5. Keep some military assets there.

6. make them pay for said military assets.

7. etc etc etc

And end the end hopefully the military will leave.

Or maybe the rest of the world want their share of this action too, not just England etc.

I will bet you a steak dinner (proper steak, not Trump) that he has.

He is a classy chap and magnanimity comes easy to him. He probably even had a little chuckle to himself when Hillary didn't get the nomination, as she wasn't particularly nice to him during their nomination race.

You probably don't realise it yet, but you guys will miss him.
