I'm done with this conversation. I have better things to do with my time. I am firmly convinced that arguing with strangers on the internet is the 8th circle of hell.
Only if you try to dish psychiatric diagnoses to people you've never met.

It is easier to just accept that there are internet users with different opinions than yours. But I am not sure how much dopamine that yields.

And please show me where exactly I dished psychiatric diagnoses here to people that I've never met and where exactly I called Urs Max a psychopath as she tried to accuse me of doing. I just went back into the racial time-bomb thread and read through it, and here are the posts:

Name: Post 1 - psychopathy definition.jpg
Views: 249
Size: 98.3 KB

Name: urs max - wrong accusation.jpg
Views: 217

We were discussing moral decision making in politics and I had mentioned the role of empathy as being necessary. Nowhere did I accuse Urs Max or anyone here of being a psychopath. Nor did I diagnose her as being one. But that is precisely what she accused me of doing. I'm sorry if neither of you are able to understand the difference between pointing out the broad definition of a psychopath and talking about the role of empathy during a conversation about morality and actually accusing someone of being a psychopath. What I did do is say that Urs Max clearly doesn't feel that empathy is necessary or normal behavior due to the fact that she said emotions have no role in politics and moral decision-making.

Also, I have seen Urs Max make numerous personal attacks here on the EF and yet whenever anyone says anything critical of him or her, she/he throws a fit about it.

I think it's about Trump....

I'm kidding, as far as I remember you only quoted some specialists who diagnosed him.

My opinion on this episode: even if sometimes can be really difficult to resist replying to someone who addressed a post of yours, it's the wisest thing to do.

Remember that 8th circle of hell!

P.S. You and I were messaging a few months ago about our kids, etc. and then as soon as it became evident that I am not a Trump supporter, you began to engage in some kind of game of "internet warfare" with me. I refuse to play that game with you. We clearly have very different opinions when it comes to politics, but I am not going to demonize you because of it. I respect the fact that you have your opinions. Please respect that I have my own.

Okay. Well, Urs Max had just tried to accuse me of calling him/her a psychopath, to which I had responded, so I assumed that's what it was in reference to.

I remember once mentioning the fact that Trump has been diagnosed with psychopathy by numerous psychiatrists, and then some people blew that up into a huge argument. The fact is, there is a clear set of guidelines used by psychiatrists for diagnosing psychopathy, known as the Hare Psychopathy Checklist.

I understand that he (it is a he I guess) accused you of that but then on the internet fora everyone can twist your words and make it appear the way they want to when it suits. It's simply not worth your time, seriously.

I like your posts, keep it up and never look back.

Federal authorities again used tear gas on crowds of protesters Monday night during ongoing protests in Portland, Ore.

Federal officers used pepper balls and threw tear gas canisters and flash bangs, according to CBS affiliate KOIN-TV. Monday marked the seventh night in a row that officers deployed tear gas.

As many people forecast, deploying Federal troops in Portland has escalated the situation, not resolved it.

I answer people's pms - esp. when they want to share about kids I am like that.

"Internet warfare", again - people will differ in political opinions from yours. Showering them with ad hoc diagnosis is not a way to have them share. Urs is defending himself, simply, after you numerously started calling him (and others) names. The fact that that those are in fact diagnosis - kinda makes it worse. He seems more self-assured than self-righteous.

Bts - I don't filter my friends by political opinion. But by their behavior.

Again, what names -- where exactly -- did I call Urs Max a name? And where did I call anyone else here a name?

Also, it was you who first PM'd me -- not the other way around. You PM'd me out of the blue in regard to the virus situation and then that progressed into us talking about our kids, etc. Anyways, I enjoyed talking with you at the time and I wish you and [your kid - mod edit] the best. And I mean that. Take care.

Okay. I didn't realize that you'd care if people knew the first name of your daughter here. I guess some people are more worried about that kind of thing than others.

I had never received a notification before that someone -- a mod -- had been editing my posts, and that coupled with there being three in a row and considering the fact that you had just lied and tried to make it look as though I had been the one messaging you initially, I found it a bit alarming.
