I would open a 'Why Biden is great' thread, however I fear it would be sparsely posted upon, giving the lack of fizz of the geriatric.
Biden has a much higher chance of getting the US back to normality, which is great for the US, great for the world.

Having said that, the Democrat leadership are a shockingly useless bunch! Getting Hillary as the candidate was a mistake they should have learned from. Just because a candidate is not Trump, doesn't necessarily make him/her electable. I just can't believe that in a country of 330m this is all the could come up with. And yes, i am aware of the primaries and yes, they certainly can and should have influenced this.

It's sad that it boils again down to a bad choice and a disastrous one.

The primaries only reflect what the rank and file membership thinks and wants.

Leadership can be selectively blind and make mistakes. That can suck. But its relatively easy to change out bad leaders when the time comes.

If the rank and file overwhelmingly get their priorities wrong, that reflects a deeper problem that isn't as easy to fix.

The Trump years could have been an excellent time for introspection and housekeeping and reinventing themselves. Instead they spent 4 years throwing the toys out of the pram.

Hillary was not so bad, she scored more votes than Trump.

Re: Will Trump be a Good President?

Another Trump climbdown?
Quote:
Oregon Gov. Kate Brown (D) announced today that the Trump administration has agreed to withdraw federal tactical teams from Portland, Ore., which for weeks has been the site of violent clashes between officers and protesters.
Source

The Feds failed to quieten things down as Spanky promised and the videos of peaceful protestors being beaten has not helped his popularity.

The announcement came just a short time after President Trump was defiant in telling reporters at the White House that the federal government would not leave "until they’ve secured their city."

It seems though that he's better at being a woman than even the women themselves. Hence the ESPY award. Hence outright FMILOTUS-worthy.

I think this is quite a bold assertion.

It is not your choice, though. It seems that we forget we aren't envolved. There are many people who don't think Trump is a disasterous choice. Just because his opponents get busy with all sorts of campaigning..doesn't mean they wil persuade them.

I cannot believe Dems really thought Biden through. Even if he gets voted in, I don't think it will be bad, though, things will calm a little, Reps will come back. Until then, Trump is exposing a lot of the mob, causing enough damage to it.

Re: Will Trump be a Good President?

Trump fomenting violence again and denouncing his own citizens on no evidence
Quote:
Donald J. Trump@realDonaldTrump

If the Federal Government and its brilliant Law Enforcement (Homeland) didn’t go into Portland one week ago, there would be no Portland -- It would be burned and beaten to the ground.
If the Mayor and Governor do not stop the Crime and Violence from the Anarchists and Agitators immediately, the Federal Government will go in and do the job that local law enforcement was supposed to do!
Attorney General Barr at the Senate this week said they are just protecting two Federal buildings, not the whole city.

The Feds went into Portland three weeks ago, not one, and they are now on the retreat after making the situation worse, not better.

Trump should acknowlege the overwhelming majority are peaceful protestors and excercising their First Amendment rights, here is a typical video.

I think Dems are using him as a pawn. Hoping he won't last more than a few months after the elections. Or that he will let them do whatever.

I said nothing about Trump, only that Biden is not some course correction saviour he's being made out to be

Campaign promises are marketing tools. Reminds me of when W ran with the 'Read my lips, no new taxes' motto that evaporated into the ether once in office

Intelligent assessments of a politician's proclivities should be based on their history & voting record, not sound bites to get elected

Sometimes, just not being the other guy is good enough to get elected.

It was certainly how the incumbent got his W.
