Sounds more like blackmail to me. In the US the most common type of bribery is also known as campaign contributions.

Circuit Attorney Kimberly M. Gardner on Friday sought to stop Missouri Attorney General Eric Schmitt's controversial attempt to intervene in a high-profile gun case against a wealthy St. Louis couple.

Gardner, a Democrat, filed a motion Friday to strike the Republican attorney general's controversial decision to ask that gun charges against Mark and Patricia McCloskey be dismissed over the state’s long-held interest in the right to bear arms.

Re: Will Trump be a Good President?

Despite flames fanned by Trump and the GOP that claimed the FBI used corrupt methods to obtain FISA warrants to spy on Trump it turns out this was smoke without fire.
Quote:
A review by the Justice Department and FBI of their practices for seeking approval of intelligence-related surveillance found that nearly all of the inaccuracies and omissions identified in a scathing internal watchdog report issued late last year were minor or involved paperwork problems.

The review of a set of 29 Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court applications flagged by Inspector General Michael Horowitz’s office in an alarming alert last December identified a total of 203 false statements or omissions, but the Justice Department and the FBI concluded that only two of those were “material,” according to a court submission released on Monday.

Those two instances — which involved one misstatement and one omission in separate applications regarding individuals whose identities were not released — were deemed by the law enforcement agencies not to have been so serious that they “invalidated” the secret surveillance warrants the court issued based on that information, wrote Melissa MacTough, the deputy assistant attorney general for national security wrote.
Source

The review was filed with the FISA court last Wednesday it is ultimately up to the surveillance court to make “final judgments” about how material the errors were and whether they undermined the applications issued.

There is a slight difference between ‘bear arms’ and to ‘brandish arms’.

The word you are looking for is extortion, not bribery

Strange Trump idea to ban TikTok just before the election, this app is believed to have between 60 and 80 million users which is a big base to upset.

Meanwhile another Trump U turn!

Trump’s tweet marked a change in tune for the president, who just last week leveled new attacks on mail-in voting.
He claimed at the time that 2020 would be the “most INACCURATE & FRAUDULENT Election in history" if universal mail-in voting were implemented.

For those people worried about Biden's problems with pronunciation here is Trump trying to say "Yosemite".

Attorney General Xavier Becerra has filed charges against the husband of Los Angeles County District Attorney Jackie Lacey in connection with the March incident in which he allegedly pulled a gun on Black Lives Matter protesters at the couple’s home, according to a charging document obtained by POLITICO.

David Lacey was charged Monday in Los Angeles Superior Court with three misdemeanor counts of assault with a firearm regarding the March 2 incident, according to documents filed by Becerra's office.

I found this interesting...... sort of like a train wreck.
Warning - it’s 40 minutes long, so pick and choose, perhaps.

I cant listen to Trump talk for more than one sentence. You'll come out of that interview more confused than before you went in.

Meanwhile, here is a good explanation to everything thats going on. Warning - truth bombs galore. Bring your kevlar if you scare easily.

As Trump and his campaign get more extreme both twitter and Facebook remove posts.
Quote:
Twitter has locked the Trump campaign’s account over a clip containing misinformation about the novel coronavirus, saying the account will be able to resume tweeting only if it deletes the tweet in question.

The clip comes from a “Fox & Friends” interview and features the president claiming children are “almost immune” from the virus. The same excerpt was removed from Facebook earlier Wednesday.

I'm not on twitter and rarely on FB, but the last few times I have logged in to FB there have been dozens of posts by my friends flagged as false or partly false. The conspiracy theories seem to be running rampant, even more so than in 2016. How easily we all can be manipulated.

Don't knock it - it's thanks to the 'Fake news and they would say that because they have vested interests'
brigade, that we have ended up first with Brexit, then with Trump in the White House and Boris in number 10.
So what a coincidence it all started to take shape in 2016, well, well, well.

You couldn't make it up could you ?

Re: Will Trump be a Good President?

Quote:
President Trump on Thursday suggested the National Rifle Association (NRA) relocate to Texas following a lawsuit from the New York attorney general seeking to dissolve the gun rights group.

Trump said of the lawsuit while speaking with reporters outside the White House. "I think the NRA should move to Texas and lead a very good and beautiful life. And I’ve told them that for a long time."

New York Attorney General Letitia James (D) on Thursday announced a lawsuit that alleges the NRA and four of its top officials, including Executive Vice President Wayne LaPierre, diverted millions of dollars away from its charitable mission and instituted "a culture of self-dealing, mismanagement and negligent oversight."

Seems to be a lot of people like Trump who run charities as if they were their own private piggy bank.

Interesting times

A New York State Supreme Court justice on Thursday denied a motion by President Trump asserting absolute immunity in a defamation lawsuit brought by E. Jean Carroll.

The decision opens the door for Carroll’s attorneys to collect DNA samples from the president, which they hope to compare to genetic material on the dress she said she wore during the incident
