Well, we didn't choose May or the queen to be fair.

Taylor or Mercury would have been better.

Well, let's face it: Is August 1st here anything else but a day of patriotism?
Many countries have national days but few actually name them "National Day of Patriotism".
Seems to be a third world thing to name it so

We should be happy he did not name it "National Trump day", still a possibility I suppose

Re: Will Trump be a Good President?

Please, let this be the end of the bitter-looking Clintons now. Can they not just quietly slither away somewhere.. set up an allotment, keep chickens.. anything.

I found yesterday, during all the pomp and ceremony, I became more interested in G W Bush’s argument with a piece of plastic

Re: Will Trump be a Good President?

May not matter too much how long Trump stays in. He already exposed the Washington DC establishment's corruption, and established the America First doctrine. There is no easy way for the establishment to go back to their old ways.

It may even be better for Trump to have a shorter tenure, and the doctrine carried out after him. He's already accomplished what he needs to for now. It can't be undone.

He can quit now while he's ahead, but he has a lot more coming down the pipeline.

To be accurate, the Electoral College's choice of head of state — or the people's choice, if only 3 million of them had voted the other way.

How short is your memory?!? You really think presidential actions can't be undone? Look at what Trump is already doing to Obama's legacy.

That is because Obama acted on his own instead of building political consensus, hence many things he's done is erasable. Furthermore, Trump's agenda will be enacted by Congress, which is much, much more difficult to undo.

But I'm actually talking about what Trump has done in terms of public consciousness. An inauguration speech may even constitute a legal document of sorts.

That speech yesterday was an indictment of everybody sitting behind him. It was really interesting to see Obama and others squirm. The government has been peddling a story that everything is hunky dory in the US, but Trump pulled back the curtains, showed what is really behind it, and who is responsible for it. What has been seen cannot be unseen.

Re: Will Trump be a Good President?

Interestingly, Henry Kissinger, in the times this morning, said that we shouldn’t dismiss Trump as a leader: he has beaten many professional politicians by being instinctual, rather than conceptual.. he also said that becoming politically close to Russia is a good thing.

Kissinger is a very interesting man..

but he is very old
