I guess that's the main challenge that lies ahead of Biden. He'll have to replace someone who succeeded creating a "cult"....
At least Biden seems to be pretty good at ignoring Trump and his cult followers' bull*** though. Biden doesn't seem too interested in encouraging more hatred between the left and the right and then trying to empower himself with that polarization (unlike Trump). I think Biden's bigger focus is on trying to actually help Americans. He doesn't seem to be making the presidency just all about himself and his ego and some twisted desire to feel worshiped.

Yesterday's man ranting into the void.

GOP leaders seem to be slowly accepting it is now time to ignore Donny and to move on.

Mitch McConnell seems to be confident he has the Senate majority to overcome Donny's Defence Bill veto.
It will be interesting to see what more members of the GOP will be willing to say and/or admit about Trump once he's no longer in office.

Just for amusement
Quote:
U.S. District Judge Robert Pratt, a federal judge in Iowa during an interview with The Associated Press on Tuesday slammed President Trump’s recent pardons saying, “It’s not surprising that a criminal like Trump pardons other criminals.”

Re: Will Trump be a Good President?

I found it rather a pity that the Brian Tyler Cohen concluded sweeplingly that "Republicans don't care, since they are continuing to line up behind" Trump. Plainly, some are definitely not.

For anyone who can stomach listening to Trump for so long, here's the full length phonecall of Saturday, January 2, 2021. https://youtu.be/AW_Bdf_jGaA

I am not a Biden fan as I thought there were other more capable Democratic candidates but I do agree with your assessment vis a-vis Trump.

This only confirms what many of us in this thread have been saying for months. Trump is a genuinely stupid and unintelligent man. Trump is mentally unhinged, deranged. Trump is deeply corrupt.

I almost feel sorry for all of those that have been engaging in willing self-delusion and denial and defending him throughout this election, because it must be tough to finally be facing cold reality.

He accuses the other side of "finding" votes and then asks for it to be done for him. Hypocritical to say the least.

Re: Will Trump be a Good President?

There's quite a strong following of Americans who believe there was fraud involved in the election. They've bought the story and now want to see action taken. A few of my own (Christian) American friends don't want to see Biden as President simply because he won't appease pro-lifers and prejudiced folk who sadly make up a strong minority of the population.

Yep - voting for & supporting Trump is the most non-Christian thing a Christian can do. Amazing how powerful brainwashing can be...

They know Trump's behaviour is not appropriate but are willing to stick with him in order to further advance their beliefs.

The beliefs of Trump's base are not Christian and not even pro-life (aside from abortion - where foetuses mean more than living children.)

This isn't really revelatory though is it? Even a 'smoking gun' audio convo like that, very little surprised me in it tbh

What is more disappointing I find is that despite a wealth of evidence to oust him from office much less incarcerate him, the US system is so broken it can't even manage that with the biggest buffoon in history

Best of the post-Capitol riot media headlines.
"Trump’s America Becomes One of Those ‘Shithole Countries’"

Edit: Most surprising headline
Fox News: A president, a violent assault and a blow against a lawful election

Re: Will Trump be a Good President?

Too little, too late
Quote:
Transportation Secretary Elaine Chao will resign in protest after a violent mob overran the Capitol after being incited by President Trump.

Chao would become the first Cabinet official, and the highest-ranking member of the administration, to resign in the wake of Trump’s incendiary rally and its violent aftermath on Wednesday.

My favorite quip that describes how Georgia felt to the Republicans:

"Trump threw a tantrum and held his breath until Georgia turned blue".

Extremely clever. I clicked on the blue quip and got an add on better oral health made simple....it's a dental hygiene company.
