I've never watched an inauguration in real time because I was always at work. This time, I made a sandwich and sat down to watch it when the last of my wisdom teeth fell out. My dentist said this would happen last November and to let nature take it's course, but I've taken the timing as an omen. So, I've yet to watch an inauguration in real time even though I've stayed up all night for the State Of The Nation Address dozens of times.
Crikey! Blueangel, what on earth was in that sandwich?

In the meantime, no substantive info about the actions taken by Trump, and everyone is exhausted.
Bingo.

Sometimes I wish the media would do their job on and report on things that are actually NEWS.

I heard a "journalist" say today "Trump tweeted about X and we chose to cover X" Never mind that X had zero to do with anything remotely related to politics

Trump did well on TV, 31 million viewers watched live U.S. television coverage of Donald Trump's presidential inauguration, other Presidents;
  • Reagan 42 million
  • Obama 38 Million
  • Carter 34 Million
  • Bush Junior 29 Million
  • Nixon 27 Million
  • Bush the Elder 23 Million
Not fair, Nixon's was before color-tv, no?

And finally some words from Madonna at the March;
  • Madonna: 'Yes, I have thought an awful lot about blowing up the White House'
  • Madonna ended her address with a rendition of her song, "Express Yourself," in which she sang, "Donald Trump, suck a dick, I'm not your bitch."
Wow. Reagan. How did he do it? Was it his movies?

We only had a handful of TV channels back then (8), and 3 of them (ABC, NBC and CBS) carried it.

I saw Sean Spicer too! Sweating like a pig on a spit that lad and white as ghost.

Then up steps KellyAnne Conway (inauguration costume and make-up by Ringling Bros Circus closing down sale) to defend the suckling Spicer with her "alternative facts" debarcle.

Is it any wonder that people with a degree of reasoning and respect for the truth are despairing on Day 2.
Who knew Sean Spicer was a Marxist

What's sad is it seems even the media on this side of the pond is also reporting on the noise and not the substance. This evening's Swiss news put up images of Trump's tweets and translated his rant against the media. What about his executive orders and his Cabinet confirmations?

If you want to keep track over time, here's a decent synopsis of actions taken so far: https://www.vice.com/en_uk/article/a...-signed-so-far

"and his Cabinet confirmations" You mean Cabinet nominations?
So far only two Cabinet confirmations; the Democrats are trying to slow the process but I doubt they will suceed?

Personally I'm not sure why UK people and Canadians should protest in the USA (those who have to travel there specially for that).
Following that logic we should all go protest in Turkey now.
Who dears to join?

Take out all the subjective bs, innuendo and personal "feelings", and what you have left is a news story about some French nationals trying to enter the country without proper visa's / paperwork, who were subsequently turned away.

Other Canadians were questioned and then allowed to enter.

The horror! How dare those jack booted CBP agents do their job.

Take that out, and the media would go out of business. They wouldn't have anything anyone would watch.

And then we would have no need for Bannon, Conway and Reibus? Fair enough.

I keep hearing Conway's name as Carol Anne and waiting for her to get sucked through the tv into a parallel dimension.
