And? In all likelihood she wasn't forced to marry DT.

You're right. It must have love at first sight with the billionaire businessman, Donald J. Trump .

I'm not sure why this is being touted as a slap in the face for Trump.

Trump says the world shouldn't count on Uncle Sam to fix all its problems. Other countries need to step up and take some initiative and shoulder some of the costs.

And when one does, people are claiming, this is a defeat for Trump.

Strange.

No, it's not strange. The abortion fund is a pushback against Trump's actions in a moral battle, not a "time to pay your share" battle. In this case his effort to push "all abortions are bad" will have failed if the fund works as hoped. So it's a defeat for him. Simple.
Well, I would have thought that if you surrender the financing, you also surrender the policy.

He who pays the piper gets to call the tune and all that.

To expect otherwise seems a little naive, no?

Plus he's eroding and polluting the very foundation and essence of the American way of life and dressing it up as "change" and other fancy buzzwords.
I think there’s quite a few Yanks who thought the exact same thing when Obama came to power.

And it will take a lot of work to undo the damage that was left by him.

There is a cult of personality with Obama, and even Hillary. It overlooks the real impacts of their actions, and their end results. Attention is diverted to sentiments, but it doesn't redeem the bottom line. I've found this harmful in government.

I see the opposite with Trump which I think can be positive. We can now forego the adulation bullshit, and the illusion and deception of personality, and watch and demand bottom line end results.

Watch most of the mass hysteria. It alludes to gossips, inuendos, fears, and a whole lot of fantasy and imagination. A lot of it is not real. I just hope people would get a grip, and differentiate between the real from the unreal. Some of us are.

Its the intelligence community itself, even Panetta himself, that told him they were able to get information on bin Laden with "enhanced interrogation". They basically told him it works for getting information.

Where it doesn't work is in the damage to US reputation. Its not politically effective.
Heres a list of Intelligence community members saying it doesnt work for obtaining information and worse, provides false information that has to be investigated.

http://www.washingtonsblog.com/2011/...formation.html

The Senate Select Committee on Intelligence destroyed the CIAs claims that information obtained through torture led to locating Bin Laden.

Re: Will Trump be a Good President?

Mexico's president has now cancelled a meeting with Trump because he's insisting Mexico pays for the wall.

"If Mexico is unwilling to pay for the badly needed wall, then it would be better to cancel the upcoming meeting"

At least he's showing a bit of spine, I wonder how long it would've taken Obama to cave in...

The State Department’s entire senior management team just resigned.

Secretary of State Rex Tillerson’s job running the State Department just got considerably more difficult. The entire senior level of management officials resigned Wednesday, part of an ongoing mass exodus of senior foreign service officers who don’t want to stick around for the Trump era.

Draining the swamp.
“It’s the single biggest simultaneous departure of institutional memory that anyone can remember, and that’s incredibly difficult to replicate,” David Wade, who served as State Department chief of staff under Secretary of State John Kerry, told The Post.

You display a certain lack of knowledge.

Sadly it will have a negative effect if everyone who could possibly stand up to him, resigns their posts. He'll have "his people" on everything. Seriously as if the world couldn't get more f*&ked up then it was, its going to be very dark.
