Re: Will Trump be a Good President?

It's not the Queen of England's job to publicaly decide who she should and who she should not invite for a state.

Privately she can do what she wants to show her distaste. Indeed, when Ceausescu and his wife visited, she did what she could to avoid talking to them. At one point she hid behind a bush so she could avoid them!

Re: Will Trump be a Good President?

How did the London protests end up going? Were there enough hipsters out in force to make Trump overturn the travel ban?

U.S. President Donald Trump on Tuesday met with top executives from some of the biggest drugmakers, calling on them to boost U.S. production and lower prices, while he also promised to speed up approval times for new medicines.
Trump reiterated that the government was paying too much for medicines in its health programs for older, disabled and poor people and said he would soon appoint a new U.S. Food and Drug Administration leader.

More affordable medicine for poor and disabled people? Ok, now this is going to throw the alt-left protesters for a loop

Sounds great but he also wants the drug companies to increase their production in the US which is not the usual way to decrease prices.

Same sort of confusion over Mexico. First he says he wants to stop the big companies who are exporting jobs to Mexico then he says he wants to build a wall to stop Mexicans emigrating to the US, somehow contradictory?

If there are really so many jobs being exported to Mexico then why don't the Mexicans simply wait for the jobs to come to them instead of them emigrating to the US?

Isn't it a good thing, though?

I'll let you into a secret - I think these "lefties", "liberals" or "libtards" (or whatever terms you guys are high-fiving each other with these days) simply want someone to deliver a decent leadership. So far, the current goon is making a mess of things but maybe he's managing to squeeze out some good stuff in between. Such as your example above.

Let's hope so, eh?

sshhhh! don't tell them there never was one. Let them have a passionate debate about it in Parliament. They love grandstanding about imaginary issues.

Bit like yourself, then, eh?

Most of your posts are posturing or whining about imaginary things that you think people say, do, or you think they mean.

LMFAO, its the information age baby, and in this age we all have a voice, even the cockwombles sadly get their say. So its a whole lot easier to mobilise people now, you know with social media and the like, which is a good thing, except when it gets used maliciously to troll and spread hate n lies n stuff like that.

Just to answer your question, I am sure people went out and protested when some of these dictators made their state visits, but at the time of their visits whatever they were doing was probably not as widely known or reported. But then again, its the British government that should be held accountable for knowingly doing business with tyrants, not the people who are protesting.
The internet has only been around for a year. WHO KNEW?!

the problem is that the UK plans their Brexit. if you need to negotiate about treaties with the US, it may not the best time to be too picky.

Close. It was called the Secure Fence Act. And it was for 700 miles, not the entire border. Politifact rated Trump's statement half true. I'd go for more than half, but not quite 100% true.

Due to obvious differences, we had to let acting AG Sally Yates go. The President wishes her luck in her next career as ambulance chaser.
