If the U.S. does not win this case as it so obviously should, we can never have the security and safety to which we are entitled. Politics! | | | | | Who knew running a country would involve politics! An Epiphany! | The following 3 users would like to thank marton for this useful post:

And he's followed it with this... | Quote: | | | | I will be speaking at 9:00 A.M. today to Police Chiefs and Sheriffs and will be discussing the horrible, dangerous and wrong decision....... | | | | | https://twitter.com/realDonaldTrump/...15036329963521
It appears he's confused the law with law enforcement, and the decision has yet to be made I believe? Wouldn't it be more productive talking to the CIA and FBI then he could back his decisions and propositions with serious intel?

It's almost like someone not coming from a legal or political background has no idea what the remit of the presidency is.

US visa applicants (from the 7 banned countries) may have to submit passwords of their social media accounts for vetting. Don't be surprised if you see some strange posts from DHS agents joining the conversations here.... Seems Trump's battle against terrorism did not get off to a good start! | Quote: | | | | Yemen's government has requested the United States stop ground operations in the country unless they have the government's full approval after an anti-terror raid authorized by US President Donald Trump killed civilians, two senior Yemeni defense officials told CNN on Wednesday. | | | | | Source

Last fall on NPR they interviewed someone who runs a male "high-end escort" business, and they said that the best business they get is from the participants of the Republican National Convention.
You know, the same folks who promote "traditional family values" and are dead-set against "the homosexual lifestyle", same-sex marriage, and all.
EDIT: I would look for a link to that interview, but I don't feel like googling "male high end escort business" right now, while sitting next to my colleague on the train! Explain that one, right? | The following 4 users would like to thank BokerTov for this useful post:

Serious question: Somebody who runs for president, does s/he not have to have a health test (physically/mentally) before?
Trump is 70 and please don't get me wrong, I'm not saying 70 year olds are generally not fit ...... but it could be an explanation for Trumps behaviour?

There is no official vetting process. Trump did issue a bullshit letter from his rather bizarre physician affirming his excellent health. Recently it was revealed he takes a hair growth drug (same as his physician), something for rosacea (red skin) and a statin. I guess the hair growth drug has something to do with prostate hormones and can cause fuzzy headedness or something. | Quote: | | | | | I'd rather do a mental health test on those who voted for him..... | | | | | This too.
I did find this - not sure of its veracity https://www.petition2congress.com/76...etting-process
If trump had half the vetting green card holders do, I wonder if he'd pass muster.

| | | | | You could say the same about Swiss citizens vs. those who apply for it...
And most Swiss will agree.

And most Swiss will agree. | | | | | True. Same as US citizens. However, there's a big difference between being a resident of a country and leader of the country. I'd like to think that leaders are somehow vetted - and I know that the party does some vetting, but they can be very sloppy.
Edited to add - vetting the president is part of the responsibility of the electoral college. Not very well, obviously.

Republicans were in a bubble of their own, as much as Democrats.
They thought he'd add some "color" to the campaign and attract new voters that Jeb or whoever could then "inherit"....

| | Re: Will Trump be a Good President? | Quote: | | | | | | | | | Thanks for that, edot. Well, if it is true, it's crazy.
Although I disagree with their demand, that the results should be <<disclosed to the general public and copies should be of public record >>. That would violate the law of privacy (which I hope you guys got in the US? )
"Sorry, not fit to run for the post" would be enough.

As I tacked on before, the electoral college should have questioned his suitability. That is their job. However, the Republicans were too giddy to follow through.
