It appears he's confused the law with law enforcement, and the decision has yet to be made I believe? Wouldn't it be more productive talking to the CIA and FBI then he could back his decisions and propositions with serious intel?

I would give my right arm for one of them to retort "I know, I know, Mr President, nobody is happy about it but votes were counted and you are going to have to stay in the White House for the next four years. That's democracy, sir, try to make the best of it."

It's almost like someone not coming from a legal or political background has no idea what the remit of the presidency is.

US visa applicants (from the 7 banned countries) may have to submit passwords of their social media accounts for vetting. Don't be surprised if you see some strange posts from DHS agents joining the conversations here....

They can access your Facebook, email etc.. accounts before you even think about travelling to the US.

Doesn't surprise me. Last fall on NPR they interviewed someone who runs a male "high-end escort" business, and they said that the best business they get is from the participants of the Republican National Convention.

You know, the same folks who promote "traditional family values" and are dead-set against "the homosexual lifestyle", same-sex marriage, and all.

Serious question: Somebody who runs for president, does s/he not have to have a health test (physically/mentally) before?
Trump is 70 and please don't get me wrong, I'm not saying 70 year olds are generally not fit ...... but it could be an explanation for Trumps behaviour?

Apparently not. There is no official vetting process. Trump did issue a bullshit letter from his rather bizarre physician affirming his excellent health. Recently it was revealed he takes a hair growth drug (same as his physician), something for rosacea (red skin) and a statin. I guess the hair growth drug has something to do with prostate hormones and can cause fuzzy headedness or something.

True. Same as US citizens. However, there's a big difference between being a resident of a country and leader of the country. I'd like to think that leaders are somehow vetted - and I know that the party does some vetting, but they can be very sloppy.


Edited to add - vetting the president is part of the responsibility of the electoral college. Not very well, obviously.

Republicans were in a bubble of their own, as much as Democrats.
They thought he'd add some "color" to the campaign and attract new voters that Jeb or whoever could then "inherit"....

As I tacked on before, the electoral college should have questioned his suitability. That is their job. However, the Republicans were too giddy to follow through.
