Is it usual/standard practice to broadcast the swearing in of Presidential picks? | | | | | Not that I recall, but then again nothing about this presidency is standard. I thought they normally took an official photo.

Who said something about draining the swamp? | Quote: | | | | The White House says Kellyanne Conway, a senior adviser to President Trump, has been "counseled" after she promoted Ivanka Trump's fashion line in a television interview.
Conway was speaking from the White House briefing room on Thursday morning when she told Fox News Channel that people should "go buy Ivanka's stuff." | | | | | Source |

Source | | | | | You could not make this stuff up | Quote: | | | | Jason Chaffetz, a Republican who heads the House of Representatives oversight committee, said the promotion was "wrong, wrong, wrong, clearly over the line, unacceptable".
He said the White House should notify the Office of Government Ethics so it could initiate an inquiry.
Mr Chaffetz said he and his Democratic counterpart would write to President Trump. Source | | | | | | The following 3 users would like to thank Castro for this useful post: | |

I don't know Swiss companies who do business with Trump. | Quote: | | | | | According to a study published in a travel retailer magazine: President Donald Trump’s ban on nationals from seven mainly Muslim countries entering the USA appears to be deterring travelers from other countries around the world too, according to data from ForwardKeys. | | | | | | Quote: | | | | | Not surprising, is it? | | Re: Will Trump be a Good President? | Quote: | | | | | Now that he's won, how do you think his presidency will be? | | | | | This joke may answer!
Donald Trump on a field trip visiting a sausage factory:
The owner proudly explains the level of automation.....
"You need to push the pig inside. The machine does all the work..
Lo, you have the sausage come out"
Trump: "I want to make America Great Again! Is it possible to push the
sausage in, the pig comes out....?"
Factory Owner: "Yes it is possible. Your father tried it years ago, and he
succeeded...!"
Exactly 71 years ago!!!!!
(a passing thought -
If the process/configaration has taken 9 months, it cannot come under
the term automation!)

I think I understood the "America first" now. The US is gonna be so busy dealing with Trumps mental stunts that the rest of the world can cozily get great again. And the Brexit people will bring back the British Empire ....

Is it usual/standard practice to broadcast the swearing in of Presidential picks? | | | | | Not that I recall either, but neither is it customary to announce supreme court picks in prime time (e.g, a live broadcast at 8pm Washington time.)

| | Re: Will Trump be a Good President? | Quote: | | | | | You could not make this stuff up | | | | | Jason Chaffetz gives the complaint more weight, thankfully. I saw earlier that Obama ethics advisor had raised the issue after Trump's tweet, but believed that would be damned by Trump supporters.
What has (I suppose) saddened me a little today, I was on a call and had Trumps twitter open on one my the screens, when the tweet came through that ended "Our hero...". As the previous tweet had been about McCain, I wondered who Trump was refering to, so refreshed the screen a few times whilst I was on hold. It took a full 20mins before the next one appeared... "..Ryan died on a winning mission ( according to General Mattis), ..." Best case scenario, Trump was interupted between tweets. Disturbing is that it possibly takes him 20mins to write one. Saddening is the thought that perhaps...just perhaps... he needed to check the name of the serviceman that died with general Mattis.

Who needs tourist dollars anyway?

I'm wondering if a British passport holder with numerous recent (civillian) stamps from one of the banned countries will be questioned at all.

One of my mates / former colleague, worked for two years in Iraq and Afghanistan booking the onward flights for troops being sent back to the US and UK. He moved to NYC in December but is back in the UK for a few weeks.

A federal appeals court in San Francisco has refused to reinstate President Donald Trump's ban on travelers from seven predominantly Muslim nations.
