| | Re: Will Trump be a Good President? | Quote: | | | | | Wow... the guy deserves a medal for actually giving Fox News a glimmer of integrity. I would say it was actually very brave speaking out like he did, considering the flak he is likely going to get both inside and outside the network. He is clearly distressed about Trump's BS. | | | | | Flak from inside the network?
Rupert Murdoch may be right-wing, but a right-wing globalist. He supported Trump with his media machine during the campaign, but his little frankentrump is now running amok. There is no loyalty there.
“Rupert is a globalist and never understood Trump. To him, Trump is a radical. Now they’ll go centrist and build the network around Megyn Kelly.”
-Steve Bannon
If only we could see what is really going on behind the scenes politically. My guess is that Trump is turning out to be a not-so-easily controlled puppet. Hence the witch hunt on the Trump cabinet, (Flynn, Logan Act), to bring him back in line. The security apparatus, which leaked the Flynn phone calls, may have some real dirt on him and are pulling him along, threatening to throw him under the bus and put Pence behind the wheel.
Re: Musikchick's earlier comment:Is the witch hunt justified? sure. Is it 'fair'? No, not when you consider that many top globalists (Rep. and Dem) blatantly violate the Logan Act on a regular basis and it is not covered by the mainstream media at all: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Logan_Act https://www.thenewamerican.com/usnew...-activists-say

| | Re: Will Trump be a Good President? | Quote: | | | | | | | | | | One of the more recent John Oliver segments time-stamped when Trump tweeted and compared that with some of his known favourite cable news stations. Not only do his tweets follow a few minutes after such shows, but he often uses the identical phrasing featured in the corresponding news article. He doesn't have a single original thought.
Someone mentioned Alan Sugar earlier. He genuinely is a self-made man, starting from nothing and selling stuff out of the back of a van; no rich daddy to donate a few millions to get him started.

He doesn't have a single original thought....... | | | | | Yeah, that's what puzzles me! He uses the press's arguments (of the ones he hates too? Or does he hate them all anyway?). He constatly says things like "I've heard", "I've read", "I think", "Something like that".
And he is able to talk for minutes not finishing one sentence and one wonders what exactly the message will be and if it will ever come out. Often to be disappointed.
Yet there were moments I almost feel sorry for the guy because he sometimes looks lost. As someome mentioned, he wanted to win. He doesn't want to this crap job being restricted from all sides constantly. He might be pondering every night how to get out "with a blue eye only".

I think it was Phil who posted somewhere on the Forum that, when President Trump decided to run, he probably thought he could just pop in twice a month or so and "oversee" things. Never actually occurred to him the Presidency involves...work!
To all those who say "but he's a successful businessman": I don't see how "successful" can reconcile with a dishonest businessman who stuck it in the proverbial to several of his business partners, suppliers, etc. and bankrupted his businesses several times. I am not even talking about ethics or morals, just business. There is nothing successful about him. Money? Great. If that is the meter for "success", there are far richer and far smarter people out there - not impressed.
As far as Fox News and various conservative outlets calling his BS, it reminds me of that line in the movie Home Alone: "If Uncle Frank says no, then it must be really bad!" | The following 2 users would like to thank BokerTov for this useful post: | |

Let us put aside for a moment the humour, irony, sarcasm, point scoring, etc,
Here we have a US President who is the most powerful man in the world; he is consistently on television telling outright lies that any school child can check out in a few seconds and see they are lies!
So how could any country leader believe he can agree a deal with such a liar!
How could you write an enforceable contract and anyway who would enforce it?
Aaaarrrrghhh!

| | Re: Will Trump be a Good President? | Quote: | | | | | | | | | | Looks like a leak to me... | Quote: | | | | The Associated Press obtained a draft memo that calls for the unprecedented militarisation of the US immigration enforcement. But if implemented, governors in 11 states included in the draft memo would have final say on whether troops are actually deployed. | | | | | ... and to quote Trump himself... | Quote: | | | | "The leaks are absolutely real, the news is fake." | | | | | Now, who do you believe? The media, Trump or Sean Spicer?

| | Re: Will Trump be a Good President? | Quote: | | | | | | | | | | Let me see if I've got this right: any news that's critical or could be construed (by any sane person) as negative toward Trump is fake. Is that right?
Presumably you believe that everything that Trump does is measured, considered and in the best interests of the majority, so the myriad reports of incredible things that Trump has done in the last four weeks must all be made up.
It's unfortunate that so much of this fake news is provably true, and so much of what Trump says is provably false. It didn't rain during his inauguration speech. He gained the largest electoral college majority since Reagan. The White House is ticking along like a fine-tuned machine. He has the solution for everything.
