Hmmm... quite a lot of Swedish society are wondering about their own governments fake news..

http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2017-0...ed-hate-speech

Could it be that a Yank president cares more about Swedish people than the Swedish government ???
Clearly you have better sources than the rest of us so "so what did happen last night in Sweden according to Trump?"

I think his audience understood what Trump was talking about. In the case of Sweden, the soaring rape and crime rates associated with migrants. There was ungoing riots in Paris the night before, that is blacked out in the media. It seemed like he was referring to the whole of Europe, as we in the US have a tendency to do sometimes.

He talks loosely and off the cuff. The people he was talking to understood what he meant. The people in Sweden, on the other hand, likely steered away from their own cover-ups and denials about their situation.
So when Trump said "You look at what's happening last night in Sweden" according to you he meant "Look at what happened somewhere else on another date?

Maybe he was really talking about white supremacist Trump supporter killing Muslims in Quebec?

the "rape laws" in sweden are much broader than in other countries
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rape_in_Sweden

and...
"Statistical factors Unlike the majority of countries in Europe, crime data in Sweden are collected when the offence in question is first reported, at which point the classification may be unclear. In Sweden, once an act has been registered as rape, it retains this classification in the published crime statistics, even if later investigations indicate that no crime can be proven or if the offence must be given an alternative judicial classification"

but I guess facts does not interest anyone anymore...sad

and there is no cover ups, media reports it daily...

also the crime rate has been quite stable...i.e. has nothing to do with immigration

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crime_in_Sweden

see how easy it is...

Re: Will Trump be a Good President?

To spell it out in more simplistic terms to those who seem to need it, Trump said "No" to open borders, and "Yes" to sovereign nation states. This has apparently become the majority opinion amongst voters.

I'm not looking for anything to suit me, rather to get some idea of what is happening with the situation. I typically do not take stories at face value, and rather read between the lines. Now if you were to look at the stories going around, you'll find that the vast majority of them are people's opinions, agendas, feelings, sentimental analysis, fears and prognosis. In other words, the vast majority of content out there is subjective. The trick is looking for the objective reality buried within them. By the time you find any, what you'll find is the vast majority of it is fake or trash.
Trump stands up in public meetings and tells one lie after another.

You believe this is some sort of cunning plan?

When did the US ever have open borders? Nothing new here?

The US has been a sovereign nation since 1776? Nothing new here?

So nothing from Trump is new

So, in short, rape statistics in Sweden are fake news and/or alternate facts.

Tom
"There are three kinds of lies: lies, damned lies, and statistics."

just another definition of rape in Sweden vs e.g. US...

Fact is, the "rape-rate" has increased in Sweden since the laws changed, e.g. "pussy-grabbing" would also be rape...

In Sweden:
"In recent years, several revisions to the definition of rape have been made in Swedish law,[3] to now not only include intercourse, but comparable sexual acts initiated against someone passive—incapable of giving consent—because they are in a vulnerable situation, such as a state of fear or unconsciousness"

In US:
"
Rape in the United States is defined by the Department of Justice as "Penetration, no matter how slight, of the vagina or anus with any body part or object, or oral penetration by a sex organ of another person, without the consent of the victim." While definitions and terminology of rape vary by jurisdiction in the United States, the FBI revised its definition to eliminate a requirement that the crime involve an element of force.[1]"

Indeed, all the pussy grabbing in Sweden is truly dreadful- how good of Trump to make us aware of this put all pussy grabbers, especially those in a position of power, in prison- I agree.

I'm not familiar with that word -- what does it mean? It looks highly appropriate, in reference to Trump.

Re: Will Trump be a Good President?

Defense Secretary Mattis disagrees with Trump, says he does not see media as the enemy.

But Mattis also acknowledged the chaotic nature of Trump’s administration so far.

“Welcome to democracy,” Mattis said. “It’s at times wildly contentious. It’s at times quite sporting. But the bottom line is this is the best form of government that we can come up with.
So, the military’s job is to hold the line, and to hold the line, and to hold the line while our government sorts out the way ahead and our people speak. We don’t have any disarray inside the military, and that’s where my responsibility resides.”

Source

Once Cabinet members are confirmed by the Senate I assume their jobs are reasonably safe.
It is possible but rare for a President to fire a Cabinet member, of course Trump fired acting attorney general Yates so anything is possible in this administration
