Sounds like they want to have their cake and eat it too.
No, just keep the cake they already have; no change

Don't want to follow government policy but still want to collect federal funding. Sad!

Don't want to follow changes in government policy that they were not consulted on!
The Republicans know all about the 10th Amendment and should have planned their game better

This whole thing gets weirder!

Source

So the chairman of the Congressional Intelligence Committee met somebody with access to the White House to view what was claimed to be classified information which he later repeated to Trump and the Press.

On this basis the information has zero credibility.
I thought like many others Nunes came across the information that was provided by intelligence agencies as part of his Chairman role
It seems he may have been a victim of a Trump team scam?
And now some light in the darkness
Quote:
Two White House officials played a role in providing House of Representatives Intelligence Committee chairman Devin Nunes with documents showing President Donald Trump and his associates were swept up in surveillance by U.S. intelligence agencies, the New York Times reported on Thursday.

Citing unnamed U.S. officials, the Times identified the White House officials as "Ezra Cohen-Watnick, the senior director for intelligence at the National Security Council, and Michael Ellis, a lawyer who works on national security issues at the White House Counsel’s Office."
Source

Nunes was naive if he believed the details would not emerge?

And now Trump policies seem to be drowning in a sea of court actions
Of course many of these actions will fail but it is all delay and diverting from areas where he might make an improvement!

The latest
Quote:
six environmental groups filed a lawsuit against the Trump administration on Thursday to challenge its decision to approve construction of the controversial Keystone XL pipeline.
And on Russia
Quote:
U.S. Senator Marco Rubio said during a Senate intelligence hearing on Thursday that unsuccessful cyber attacks from Russia targeted former members of his presidential campaign staff in July 2016 and within the past 24 hours.

Senate hearings on Russian intervention in the US elections

https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/...ence-committee

Quote:
The expert added that Russia possessed unreleased hacked information on thousands of Americans it could “weaponize” to discredit inconvenient sources. Those and other measures provided Russia with an inexpensive tool to check its wealthier adversaries in the US and Nato, several scholars and former US officials assessed.

When asked why the Russian president, Vladimir Putin, felt the 2016 US election provided the Kremlin an opportunity to intervene – the consensus position of US intelligence agencies – Watts pointed to Trump.

Wittingly or not, Trump and his former campaign chairman, Paul Manafort, embraced and promoted narratives, including false ones, convenient to Russian interests, including a fake story about a terrorist attack on the Turkish airbase at Incirlik used by US forces and baselessly doubting the US citizenships of Barack Obama and Ted Cruz.

Re: Will Trump be a Good President?

As was mentioned Flynn (ex National Security chief) has asked for immunity in return for telling his story!

Wonder if his story will be valuable enough to warrant immunity?

I suggest the Senators wait for Trumps next appearance; if he is wearing brown trousers then give Flynn immunity

Funny, just last year both Flynn and Trump said that asking for immunity implies you've committed a crime...

https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/...itted-a-crime/

(and many other sources, this one has the videos of both speaking about it)

Meanwhile, it seems that Nunes is simply a puppet of the Trump administration. He went to the WH on the evening of March 21 to get intelligence info from WH staffers that related to his committee's investigation. The next day he shared that intelligence with the R members of the committee but not the Ds, and then held a press conference to talk about Trump associates being caught up in surveillance. Then he rushed to the WH to supposedly tell Trump this breaking news.

If it was so urgent, why didn't the staffers share directly with Trump? Why didn't Nunes meet with Trump that night instead of making a show the next day? It all looks a bit dodgy.

The Dems best described these Nunes events as a charade.

"held a press conference" surely this is exactly the sort of leaking of classified information that Nunes was complaining so bitterly about during his open hearing with the FBI chief Comes?

"Through the looking glass with Trump and Nunes" here!

So, any word yet on the Russian involvement?

I'm almost certain them pesky Ruskies were involved. How else could such a great candidate like Hillary be beaten?!

I'm guessing no news will be released today at the risk it might be taken as an April fool. These days, anything's seemingly possible...

Re: Will Trump be a Good President?

Especially after his epic walk away from room without signing stunt ...

the look of utter disbelief on Pence and his other staff's faces was almost more epic than the walk out - and Pence trying to pull his sleeve to stop bring him back even more so.

(yep- it has started for sure now...)

Exactly, what sort of idiot would take the risk to team up with the Russians to beat Hillary, it would need someone really dumb. Oh, wait a minute.....

Well something is certainly fishy.

Really, a faultless candidate like Hillary Clinton, and she lost!
Sure, Bill might be a rapist but that shouldn't blemish her otherwise impeccable record.

Or were, at least. Not sure he'd still be welcome for beers if the wife was home.
