Strange Trump tweet today

The reason you don't generally hit runways is that they are easy and inexpensive to quickly fix (fill in and top)!
Something to do with the Syria attack I assume?

In the "good old days" they would drop cluster bombs on runways to discourage people from repairing them; of course, such bombs are banned today.

There are "runway buster" bombs but they do not fit on a Tomahawk cruise missile; in fact these cruise missiles and their conventional armaments are totally unsuitable for attacking an airfield (unless fitted with nukes).

Which is why this airfield is back in service today despite 100 million dollars of hardware raining down.

A squadron of B2 bombers would have closed the airfield for a long time?

Hold on to your hats, the latest is that Trump, or his Son-in-Law is going to change the cabinet!

As above, this is different.

The American people don't have the stomach to see their troops being beheaded in the desert and their pilots being burned alive in cages, and quite rightly so. If I were Trump, there's no effing way I'd put boots on the ground or send air crews over areas where they could be shot down and fall into the hands of Daesh. The fall back of this though is, any retaliation towards the US will (currently) have to be done in the Eastern Med. Not booking a holiday to Cyprus any time soon.

US warfare in Syriah is illegal under international law.

Like the Russian warfare in Ukraine
Of course two wrongs do not make a right; I was just demonstrating that some countries seem to ignore International law when it is convenient for them; "the law that defines interventions in another country legal under two conditions only".
Indeed. Still only one is portrayed as wrong or outright evil and immediately jumped upon while the other keeps meddling with other countries' affairs worldwide, claims exception and generally considers itself above the law.

Russia has over the last 3 or 4 years been pushing the borders of what is acceptable international diplomatic behaviour; I do not have a problem with the US reacting but I only hope it does not lead to a major conflict.
I wouldn't call it diplomacy if you mean interfering with elections and Crimea. Nonetheless that's anything but new, just the means with the latter is - based on what's publicly known, that is. I wouldn't bet on the US having a clean conscience there though.

"only one is portrayed as wrong or outright evil" depends which newspapers, blogs etc. one reads.

British travellers to the United States face the uncomfortable choice of handing over personal information, including social media passwords and mobile phone contacts, or running the risk of being denied entry to the country, under a new “extreme vetting” policy being considered by the Trump administration.

Tourists from the UK and other US allies including Germany and France, could be forced to reveal personal data, as well as disclose financial information and face detailed ideological questioning, according to Trump administration officials quoted by the Wall Street Journal. While US citizens have established rights against unlawful searches at the border, the extent to which foreign travellers can resist requests to hand over personal information is unclear.

If true Trump could simultaneously destroy the US tourist trade and long distance US airlines.

“I’m aware of at least one conference on cyber security and ethical hacking which switched to Toronto at short notice because of these concerns.”

Re: Will Trump be a Good President?

To be fair- this is done already. I don't have a single friend in the UK, CH, or anywhere indeed, who intends to visit the USA in next 4 years.

Same to Uk to some extent. Been telling friends there is no better time to go, with the CHF so high and Sterling so low- but they all shake their head and say 'nah - really not attractive at the moment'.

Deputy national security adviser K.T. McFarland has been asked to step down in another shakeup within President Trump's administration, according to a new report.
She will become the U.S. ambassador to Singapore, less than three months after beginning her role at the National Security Council.

I assume the White House hopes Singapore is far enough away

I've stopped travelling to the USA when they started to treat entering foreigners essentially the same way they treat arrested people. At that time NA turned to N/A, friendlier alternatives abound.

Trump himself has even acknowledged how much information he gains from watching TV.
Asked who he consulted with on military matters during the campaign, Trump said this to NBC's Chuck Todd: "Well, I watch the shows. I mean, I really see a lot of great -- you know, when you watch your show, and all of the other shows, and you have the generals, and you have certain people."

Probably related to the strange White House visit by Congressman Nunes and the interest in who were other visitors at around the same time?

Re: Will Trump be a Good President?

Possible win for Trump!

There are some claims around that China will stop importing coal from N. Korea and import from the US instead.

If true it would be a strike against N. Korea, help to diminish the US/China trade gap and possibly mean more jobs for US coal miners

So, the worlds worst polluting country, is buying the worlds worst polluting fuel, from the worlds second worst polluting country, and shipping it across the world, using the second most polluting method of freight, and only because the most polluting method of freight would be impractical.

But its ok, some miners in the US will get to work underground in horribly hazardous conditions for a bit longer, enriching not themselves but the already-obscenely-rich.

MAGA indeed.
