Both sound very plausible. Perhaps his own medical problems also informed his vote.

Trump's healthcare battle reminds Scaramucci of Lincoln fighting slavery

Irony or Karma, I am never sure?

.@SenJohnMcCain-Thank you for coming to D.C. for such a vital vote. Congrats to all Rep. We can now deliver grt healthcare to all Americans!
It is amazing that so many Senators voted for a Bill that the Congressional Budget Office estimated may leave 16 million more Americans uninsured over a decade and also projected premiums would be 20 percent higher than under current law.

Trump campaigned that with Trumpcare everyone would be covered and premiums would be lower so why did the Senators vote for something so different

All Trump cares about is getting something signed - anything - to show he has fulfilled his promise to banish Obamacare. "Optics", as we say now, is everything. Content is nothing. GOP senators are just going along with that agenda, sheeplike.

MaCain's behavior was amusing. First voting for the debate on what to vote for (which is what Trump thanked him for by Tweet) and then voting against "skinny Obamacare" a day later, the GOP's last hope. Hopes briefly raised and then dashed. SAD.

The thing is we're using the wrong terminology here. It's not failure, it's alt-success.

And now they have wasted so much time on failed Healthcare it leaves them very short of time to implement Trump's other legislative desires; Tax reform, 2018 Budget changes and rebuild US Infrastructure.

My guess is tax reform will be diluted down to a few tax cuts.
2018 Budget will be simply the 2017 Budget again with some minor changes and infrastructure delayed to 2019.

Russia's Foreign Ministry demanded Friday that the United States cut the number of diplomatic staff it has in Russia and said it would seize two US diplomatic properties, in a sharp response to a new sanctions bill passed by the US Congress a day earlier.

Great move on delay (by V. Putin) - I always knew he was very smart!
Also this is a smart move by Putin; if Trump does not sign this new sanctions bill passed by the US Congress then he looks like he is weak versus Russia?

He came across as a very classy, competent, and persuasive Director of Communications.

"What I want to do is I want to ***ing kill all the leakers and I want to get the President’s agenda on track so we can succeed for the American people".

Happy Friday!

P.S. Apparently, the F word is edited out on EF, but it's OK for Mr. Scaramucci to say it in an official capacity. Great.

Spokesmen for Paul Ryan and Rep. Kevin McCarthy denied the exchange about Russians paying off Donald J. Trump until being told that the Washington Post had a recording of it.

I am pleased to inform you that I have just named General/Secretary John F Kelly as White House Chief of Staff.
He is a Great American..and a Great Leader. John has also done a spectacular job at Homeland Security.
He has been a true star of my Administration I would like to thank Reince Priebus for his service and dedication to his country.
We accomplished a lot together and I am proud of him!
Source

White House seems to be in meltdown!

How long can Trump last without Washington savvy people in his administration?

Edit - more detail/speculation here

I suspect Trump will have an uphill fight to get the Senate to approve a new Secretary for Homeland Security.

Edit - Rick Tyler, a Republican political analyst, said , "Kelly has the massive task of getting a dysfunctional White House to function – but for that to happen he has to get an out of control President under control. I don't give him much chance of success but as Trump likes to say, 'Time will tell.'"

Edit - Experts say Special Counsel Mueller’s move to follow the money has the potential to expose Trump, his family and his associates to legal troubles that go beyond election-year collusion with the Russians. It opens the door to revelations of any business-related malfeasance discovered during Mueller's look at Trump's business network.

The investigation could shine renewed light on eyebrow-raising deals from Trump’s past, such as his 2008 sale of a South Florida mansion to Russian tycoon Dmitry Rybolovlev for $95 million or the international financing behind a condo-hotel he developed with foreign partners in New York’s SoHo neighborhood.

It could also pierce the increasing secrecy around who is buying real estate from Trump. A USA TODAY investigation last month revealed that 70% of Trump real estate sales since he won the GOP nomination were to secretive shell companies, compared to 4% in the two years before that. The clear shift to those kinds of purchases, which help obscure the identities of the buyers, raise questions about the source of profits that ultimately flow to the President because he has not fully divested from his companies.

Re: Will Trump be a Good President?

Today the president of the United States openly called on police officers to rough up suspects they were bringing into detention, half-an-hour into a speech in which he described as “animals” gangs of immigrants that were supposedly hunting down and sadistically cutting up “beautiful” young Americans.
