Strange how he's not American and had never been to any of the places he wrote about. Yet he's been instrumental in shaping the whole way Germans et al. think about the Old West.

Aaah, it is all crystal clear now.
The alt-righters' MO on here. Say something offensive, feel proud that they have offended, get pissy when someone calls them on it or offends them back. Restricting freedom of offence, love it.

Not sure this is the best approach but I suppose people want to make their point in some way? | | | | | Now it is 18 charity groups who have cancelled their plans to host fundraising events at President Trump's luxury Mar-a-Lago club in Palm Beach, Fla.. (although I think he might have nailed it...)

(although I think he might have nailed it...) | | | | | I just find it strange that he's unknown in the US, even though:
My whole adolescence stood under his sign. Indeed, even today, he has been dear to me in many a desperate hour
-Albert Einstein
What I liked most in his writings was the courageous stand for peace and mutual understanding, which inspires nearly all his books
-Albert Schweitzer
He is the most brilliant representative of a truly original type of fiction i.e. fiction as wish-fulfillment

Most people have heard of those books.
They're not written about a place by a person who has never been there, and unheard of by the people who actually live there.

| | Re: Will Trump be a Good President? | Quote: | | | | | So you haven't seen any of the threads calling Theresa May and Corbyn? Or the thread about Merkel? | | | | |
About Brexit? I don't follow that thread anymore, ever. Sorry to disappoint, Brexit is over from my point of view. Uk is interesting only as a NATO member.
Re. Merkel, very little criticism towards Merkel apart from a few people who were labeled alt-right. Same as those who don't join the anti-Trump hysterics.
Btw, can I have an opinion or are you going to "stalk" me all over EF?
I am used to that. | This user would like to thank greenmount for this useful post: | |

Why are you so surprised? It's fiction. In fact it's rather funny, the way they did shape other people's impression on the Old West. But surprising it is not.
