Say something stupid. Get called on it. Try to cover up evidence of saying something stupid and then deny it ever happened, or that it did, but that you totally meant something else. You did understand, you have the best understanding.
Amazingly, just like in America, people buy it, too, despite the evidence staring them in the face. | | | | | Yes much trumpiness, frumpiness and grumpiness abounds, as this is a thread about. . . Trump himself!

N. Korea fired a missile today that passed over northern Japan causing the Govt. to issue a warning for people to take cover; lucky that Trump has won against N. Korea
Edit - some reports claim three missiles were fired |

Just going to Trump's comment regarding the floods... | Quote: | | | | ...there's probably never been anything like this. | | | | | ...is it worse than Katrina? Obviously not in terms of fatalities.

But seriously, is it worse than Katrina? Is it covering a much larger area or something, because that isn't really coming across on the news. I heard that 18 counties are getting federal aid now.

President Trump fired the aide responsible for organizing his August rally in Phoenix, after being disappointed by the results and coverage, Bloomberg reported on Monday.
Trump’s team reportedly informed George Gigicos, a contractor to the Republican National Committee, that he would not be hired in such a capacity again after the president was apparently left underwhelmed by the optics and crowd size of the event.
Gigicos organized all of Trump’s signature campaign events and his occasional rallies since entering office. Source
To be fair to the guy so soon after the Charlottesville tragedy I could imagine people were reluctant to visit an event that would attract many protesters?

But seriously, is it worse than Katrina? Is it covering a much larger area or something, because that isn't really coming across on the news. I heard that 18 counties are getting federal aid now. | | | | | It's different. Katrina left widespread destruction across Louisiana and Mississippi, but it was the coverage of New Orleans that was so gripping. New Orleans is different due to geography. It's like a big bowl, waiting to fill up with water. The initial storm wasn't so bad for NOLA, as the eye of the hurricane crossed to the east. The levees failing really did the damage in terms of flooding, plus there wasn't an evacuation order until too late, shelters weren't set up, etc.
In Houston, they took in many Katrina refugees and learned a lot from the NOLA experience. Houston has received much more rain in a shorter time, but people have been a bit better prepared and the infrastructure is better. Not perfect, and there will be some criticisms.
When you read numbers such as 30,000 people going to shelters, it sounds huge. But the population of the greater Houston area is more than 5 million, so all things considered they're managing rather well. Compare that to Katrina - the population of NOLA was less than half a million before the storm and they still had tens of thousands in shelters.

Sad day for UK Trump supporters | Quote: | | | | Rupert Murdoch has taken the rightwing US channel Fox News off the air in the UK after 15 years.
His US media group 21st Century Fox said it would withdraw Fox News from Sky in the UK on Tuesday because it no longer regarded the service as commercially viable. | | | | | Source |

He's such an opportunist, making good use to perform to the captive crowds of flood victims he calls 'Supporters'.

More horrible stuff | Quote: | | | | President Donald Trump's appointee to a Department of Energy post says inflammatory comments that appeared to have been made by him online were the result of "cyber attacks and Internet crimes" committed against him over the past several years by "imposters in social media."
In the comments section of a September 2016 article on the conservative new site Daily Wire, the Disqus user wrote: "Well, it is a fact: Obama is the son of a fourth-rate p&*n actress and w@!re." The comment is an apparent reference to an unfounded right-wing conspiracy that Obama's mother posed for nude photos and perhaps a reference to Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte calling Obama a "son of a whore."
In one comment, the account directed a fellow commenter to contact him at Bradford's email address and phone number. | | | | | http://edition.cnn.com/2017/08/29/po...unt/index.html |
