Unsubstatiated rumours say 5 people will be arrested today or tomorrow, including one 'big fish'. I'd be surprised if Flynn isn't one of them, but it's the others I'd be more interested in. We shall wait and see...but don't hold you're breath.

The Special Counsel announced that Paul Manafort and Richard Gates have been indicted by a federal grand jury.
The 12-count indictment is on "conspiracy against the United States, conspiracy to launder money, unregistered agent of a foreign principal, false and misleading FARA statements, false statements, and seven counts of failure to file reports of foreign bank and financial accounts."

Edit - Manafort was the top official on the Trump campaign after then-campaign manager Corey Lewandowski was fired in June 2016 so will be interesting to see Trump's reaction.

There is an implicit assumption here that there was a pause in "this "Russia" talk", I did not see such a pause? When was this pause?

A third Trump ally, George Papadopoulos, a former foreign policy adviser to the Trump campaign, pleaded guilty in a separate case for making false statements to the FBI, according to records unsealed today.

Anyway according to the indictment Manafort continued making such false declarations; not just years ago?

A federal judge in Washington blocked the Trump administration Monday from enforcing parts of its transgender military ban.

She blocked provisions having to do with accession and retention directives — meaning directives concerning joining and retaining military personnel.

Democratic power lobbyist Tony Podesta, founder of the Podesta Group, is stepping down from the firm that bears his name after coming under investigation by special counsel Robert Mueller.

The investigation into Podesta and his firm grew out of investigators’ examination of Manafort’s finances.
Podesta Group was one of several firms that were paid to do work on the PR campaign to promote Ukraine in the U.S.

According to the caption above the photo that is very much not just a "voluntary advisory board"

I watched the press meeting last night and think Sanders did really, really well considering. I'd want her in my corner. Can you imagine Spicey in the same position?

Well, that's some good news at least!

This is not THE National Security Council https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/United...curity_Council but a shadow council during campaining for president. Look at the date of the photo, even the primaries were still ongoing for GOPs sake.

To quote Trump " Few people knew the young, low level volunteer named George, " - in this picture this supposedly low level guy was sitting at a table with Trump, Jeff Sessions and possibly even Manafort (hard for me to tell from the photo) discussing security; not usually a topic for low level people.

Indeed look at the date, just a couple of weeks after Papadopoulos met the Professor who claimed to have Russian contacts.

Incidentally Papadopoulos was informed about Russian hacking of Democrat emails months before anybody else knew. Maybe he forgot to tell Trump who claimed the hacking was by the Chinese or a 40 pound guy in bed.

Of course it is not the National Security Council but it was Trump's shadow council which is as official as it gets during a campaign?
How do you define what are "official" actions during a campaign; or do you reject Sander's comment that he did not do anything official because nothing was official during the campaign?
