I misread the label when I bought it. At the time, I thought it said "TRIM P", which I assumed was some way of ensuring that I'd always look svelte.

Sounds very appropriately Trumpesque.

...As mentioned before many GOP are leaving Congress, see graph below...
For balance, note that many of those leaving the House are going to run for Senate instead - so they still want to be in Washington. Some are going to run for governor of their state. Not all of them are leaving politics entirely.

They will have to win their Primaries before they can run for Senate

Re: Will Trump be a Good President?

Looks like the Trans-Pacific Partnership trade deal has survived Trump's withdrawal?

Quote:
Top officials from 11 countries said Friday that they had reached a deal on a trade agreement that does not involve the United States, according to a new report.

The Associated Press reports that trade officials from 11 countries have reached an agreement on the “core elements” of the trade deal.
Those 11 countries, plus the U.S., signed the Trans-Pacific Partnership in 2016 and are; Australia, Brunei, Canada, Chile, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Peru, Singapore and Vietnam
Source

Trump withdrew from TPP and said he preferred to negotiate individual trade deals with these countries but so far these talks have not started.

Putin speaks decent English but you rarely see him do it. Like any diplomat, I imagine he prefers to speak in his mother tongue when possible to avoid mis-speaking. Whether Putin can understand the "English" that comes out of Trump's mouth is another matter.

Snippet of Putin speaking English:

True, if there are at least two people from the same party running for the same office, there's a primary. With the current climate there's no guarantee the voters would want to send the same person back to Washington, particularly to the higher chamber.

Also both parties will be considering electability of their candidates. If the current House members are seen as weak competitors to the Dems on the ballot, it's possible the party will try to oust them in the primaries and put up a stronger candidate.

Re: Will Trump be a Good President?

Donald Trump has said he believes Vladimir Putin spoke genuinely when the Russian president denied meddling in last year’s US election.

“He said he didn’t meddle. He said he didn’t meddle. I asked him again. You can only ask so many times. I just asked him again. He said he absolutely did not meddle in our election. He did not do what they are saying he did,” Trump said.

Source

Source2

About Putin's alleged statement; to quote Mandy Rice-Davies in a similar situation " "Well he would, wouldn’t he".

So Trump is again denying the intelligence community's report concluding that Russia meddled in the US election; which report was prepared by three agencies: the CIA, FBI, NSA.

No other US intelligence agency dissented from these conclusions.

Very weird situation.

Edit - now getting weirder!
“No,” Putin's press secretary Dmitri Peskov told CNN when asked, “as far as you know, did the two leaders discuss meddling?"

Source

Edit2 - CIA Director Mike Pompeo stands by US intelligence assessments that Russia meddled in the 2016 election, the agency said Saturday, despite President Donald Trump saying he believes Russian President Vladimir Putin when he says his country didn't interfere.

"The Director stands by and has always stood by the January 2017 Intelligence Community Assessment entitled: Assessing Russian Activities and Intentions in Recent U.S. Elections," the CIA said in a statement. "The intelligence assessment with regard to Russian election meddling has not changed."

Whatever we think about the content of Trump tweets they are formally defined as official statements by the US President with all their consequent legal weight behind them.
And the White House chief of staff does not read them? Kafkaesque is somehow an inadequate description?

Roy Moore and Jeff Sessions meeting; best Jeff Sessions line "I am used to being the creepiest person in the room but ..."

Best overall line "Trump finally went to Vietnam".

Just this once you can't blame Trump for the shirt. Apparently it's traditional Philippine and was given to him to wear. The size I'm sure was carefully chosen to highlight his best features.

US Coal production up mostly due to increase in exports but not done much to increase jobs as they switch to open cast mining which requires fewer people.
