Politics runs in cycles. In 7 years time (or less) America will vote for someone who will fit Obama's profile...maybe an actor, who knows. They seem to like them a lot.

I think Trump only got elected because of Obama. So one extreme led to another, with the pendulum swinging further into the extreme every time.

If that is going to continue, I cringe to think what the next Democrat president will be like, or the next Republican after that ....

Na, I very much hope the next president will be more the boring caretaker-in-a-suit type so things can normalize and calm down a bit. But I'm not holding my breath.

The only thing "extreme" to people about Obama was his colour. He was towards the left of the American political spectrum, which in real politics placed him somewhere in the centre-right bracket. Standard Dem position, not extreme in any way at all.
