I understand he sent in FEMA and gave himself a score of 10 out of 10.

Okay, but as for foreign aid, the Marshall plan is long over and done with and we're way past the point of diminishing returns. Seems like we could use that money for roads, bridges, walls, spacecrafts, robots, missiles, bombs and lasers. Those things are expensive.
You do know Puerto Rico is a US territory not foreign

I bet the Marshall plan doesn't look like a good expenditure anymore..

Good read. Bannon and Murdoch come across as almost likeable. Almost.

So, Phos & co., what's that I was saying about 100 pages back about Bannon being out to get Trump now that he's been fired from the White House?

Steve Bannon has no judicial credentials, so for him to be quoted as calling something "treasonous" doesn't really mean a whole hell of a lot.

It only means he got emphatic about something and started ranting and raving. Yippee!
Seems Trump is taking it seriously, popcorn time.

The White House released a strongly worded 266-word statement from the President slamming Bannon after excerpts from a new book quoted Bannon as calling the meeting between a Russian lawyer and the President's eldest son, son-in-law Jared Kushner and then-campaign chairman Paul Manafort "treasonous" and "unpatriotic."

"Steve Bannon has nothing to do with me or my Presidency.
When he was fired, he not only lost his job, he lost his mind.
Steve was a staffer who worked for me after I had already won the nomination by defeating 17 candidates, often described as the most talented field ever assembled in the Republican party," Trump said in the statement.

Hard to choose a favourite but this has a ring of truth

Quote:
Before the election Mr Flynn "had been told by friends that it had not been a good idea to take $45,000 from the Russians for a speech.
'Well it would only be a problem if we won,' he assured them."
Edit
Quote:
President Trump called former acting Attorney General Sally Yates "a c---" before firing her

Re: Will Trump be a Good President?

Meanwhile the White House announced Wednesday that President Trump is dissolving his voter fraud commission.

This was the group charged with proving that Trump really won the Presidential popular vote because there were millions of fake votes that caused a false loss..

The commission never had a hope in hell of achieving their goal since every independent study showed at worst there was only a handful of fake votes out of millions.
Secondly they relied on the States providing information to prove the States themselves had done a bad job which info would never ever be provided!

Been a fun Trump day

Re: Will Trump be a Good President?

Bread and Circuses. This looks more like an episode of Jersey Shores than the White House.

Bannon has great Economic Nationalist theories, but if he smokes crack, he needs to exit stage left. There are younger intellects who can carry those themes, without the menopausal temperament.

Trump needs to reshuffle the deck ASAP, fire as many people he can, hire new cabinet members and recalibrate for the next 6 to 9 months.

Its only Jan. 4, and I'm already getting tired of Trump winning. "Please Mr. President, stop winning! We have more important things to accomplish."

Bannon has lost his mind and got too big for his britches. Even the statements in the book are low energy and of no real consequence. Bannon doesn't really know how to win, he's a poseur.

Ah, this Bannon / Trump business reminds me of that classic 80s Human League song.

He certainly helped put him where his is now, and we all wait with bated breath to see if he can bring him back down too.

LOL! You wish!

Bannon runs the right wing web site Breitbart which is read like a holy book by many of the Trump base.

Surely Trump tempts fate with his arrogance. But Bannon is a weak character to bring him down. A more archetypal downfall for Trump would be at the hands of one of his own; Don, Melania or Ivanka. Maybe Ivanka, out of her own ambitions, would make for a worthy and melodramatic downfall for Donald Trump.

But until then, we still have about 7 more years of this to go.

MAGA!

I don't think Bannon can take Breitbart with him, as he doesn't have any support nor backing for it. We would more likely see Breitbart disband if Bannon does not tone down or leave.

My hunch is Bannon will return with his tail between his legs, apologetically.

The only 'revelation' that came as a surprise was the Maccy D's poisoning one.
Donald Trump’s lawyers threatened legal action on Wednesday night against his former right-hand man Steve Bannon, marking a fresh escalation after a day of turmoil that left the White House reeling.

A cease and desist letter accuses Bannon of violating a non-disclosure agreement by speaking about his time on Trump’s election campaign to Michael Wolff, whose new book has caused shockwaves in Washington.

Wolff’s book soared from 48,449th on Amazon’s bestselling books list to number one.

Source

Interesting that Trump is happy to insult people over twitter but cannot take the heat himself

The text of the lawyers letter could be interpreted to be admitting there is some truth in Bannon's quotes

From the link I posted
Quote:
Bannon could yet use Breitbart to hold Trump’s feet to the fire on issues such as immigration control, building a wall on the Mexican border and waging a trade war with China.

Joshua Green, author of Devil’s Bargain: Steve Bannon, Donald Trump, and the Storming of the Presidency, said: “I don’t think Bannon is going anywhere … He speaks for a wing of the Republican party that is real and powerful.
He reflects and amplifies a sentiment among grassroots Republican supporters on issues such as trade and immigration that is very real.”

The real player is Rebekah Mercer. People like Joel Pollack and Raheem Kassam have too much integrity to follow Bannon out, I hope.
