It only seems logical to me that at some point Trump would be interviewed. It doesn't mean he's broken any laws. He was at the top of the campaign that's being investigated. It's important to know what he knew and when.
Of course, presumption of innocence and all that.

But it would be interesting if Trump were interviewed because that would mean there is some substance to the investigation even if Trump was not personally involved.

Myself I doubt Trump did deliberately collude with the Russians but I would not be surprised if he had got pulled in by some of his team and failed to properly distance himself.

Re: Will Trump be a Good President?

The first Gallup Poll of 2018 shows Trump’s approval rating dipped 2 percentage points in the last week to 37%.
A Dec. 31 poll showed Trump with a 39 percent approval rating, his highest mark in months.

This despite Jerusalem decision and tax reform bill. I suppose the book did not help

Quote:
In a three-page letter written on behalf of Wolff and his publisher Henry Holt, lawyer Elizabeth McNamara said that publication of the book would continue and that there would be no apologies and no retractions.
Trump's lowest ever rating in this poll was 35%, best ever was a year ago @ 45%.

Re: Will Trump be a Good President?

Before Donald Trump and Steve Bannon were enemies, they were allies. And not long before that, Bannon was part of an effort to sink Trump's presidential hopes -- even if Trump didn't know it.

A conservative watchdog group led by Bannon tried to discredit Trump in the early stages of the 2016 Republican presidential primary by shopping a document alleging that Trump had ties to mobsters, according to conservative sources and a copy of the document reviewed by CNN.

Source

Bannon was backing Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) in the GOP primary at the time. Cruz mentioned Trump’s ties to organized crime as a reason Trump should release his tax returns during the campaign.

38 GOP members of Congress planning to retire (or having already retired) versus 17 Democrats.

Of course, 13 GOPs are planning to seek another political office (or have new roles in the Trump administration) and 3 are retiring due to scandals. Nevertheless this is very high compared with the average of 11 GOPs retiring per Congress over the last 40 years and there is still time this Congress for more to retire..

Source
Now 39 GOP members of Congress planning to retire (or having already retired).

California Republican Rep. Ed Royce, the chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, will not seek re-election in November, he announced Monday. Royce marks the seventh House GOP committee chairman who opted to retire or run for other office this cycle.

Leaving the sinking ship!

Is this number higher than usual?
I suspect there's always some politicians retiring.

Likely it will be the Democrats, elections will be in November.

Because I do not like Trump does not automatically make me a fan of the Dems but if you look at the Virginia and Alabama results plus Trump's record low popularity then next elections do not look good for GOP.

Combine this with a tax reform that is even less popular than Trump plus the book....

Oh, I think this is freakin great news. I'd love to see the US get rid of career politicians and be replaced by real citizens who are in touch with real concerns of American people.

I don't think we want a ruling class oligarchy. We can leave that to the Europeans.

Naw, the book is not satire, its a collection of hearsay, whispers and gossip. It does not belong in the Non-fiction section. It is more like Political Pseudo-non-fiction.
You miss the key point.

The book is a collection of interviews with senior people in the White House administration. The author had the foresight to record the interviews so nobody in the WH has actually denied what they said.

The point is senior people in the White House administration are speaking bigily "badily" about Trump; whether they speak the truth or not the WH is full of disloyal and unhappy people. This is not a winning combination.

Latest news from WH is according to Trump's daily calendar he now starts his work day at 11am, before then is executive time; watching TV and tweeting in his bedroom.

Absolutely! Even as Trump.

We ought to have the most talented individuals in Congress representing us, not party operatives. They should be from EVERY sector of society.

That is what the house of representatives was intended to be.
