Well I don't ride a bike, drink Jonnie Walker and would never be seen in Levis jeans! So his tariffs are not a problem

Idiots, if they want to get to Trump then they must put high tariffs on coal

Good choice attacking material symbols of American "culture". However, they should have gone for Hollywood as well.

So... for a further 5 points... how would Trump's or the EU's tariff's affect you even if you did drink Scotch?

Take your time, calculators are allowed.

The bourbon whisky is from usa right. Higher import tarif in EU.
Higher cost.

Are you sitting comfortably? Then let's begin.

Johnnie Walker isn't Bourbon.

Bourbon is, in fact, from the US, Johnnie Walker is produced in Scotland. That being the case, if the EU slaps tariffs on Bourbon that will not increase the price of Scotch.

Sorry. That should read " I drink Johnnie Walker " so an increase of the price of bourbon would not affect me.

Fair enough, I read your post to mean you didn't ride a bike or drink Johnnie Walker.

Funny the EU complaining about this, should check out the tariffs the EU places on Chinese steel. Two cheeks of the same arse.
You seem to have missed the point?
The EU could care less what the US tariffs are on steel from China but they do care a lot about what the US tariffs are on steel from EU.

Quote:
Of $29.1 billion worth of steel that the United States imported last year, $9.2 billion came from the 28 nations of the Europe Union and neighboring countries, $5.1 billion from Canada, $2.8 billion from South Korea, $2.5 billion from Mexico, $1.6 billion from Japan, $1.4 billion from Russia and just $976 million from China.

Re: Will Trump be a Good President?

How can it be that Trump alone can decide these new tariffs?

And could it be nearing the end for Trump? If he pulls back he loses face and loses credibility?

Re: Will Trump be a Good President?

Executives at the world’s most ambitious “clean coal” plant, the $7.5bn Kemper plant in Mississippi, knew for years about serious design flaws and budget problems.

Its owners, Southern Company, boasted it was “going to be the cleanest coal plant in the world”, in the words of the CEO, Tom Fanning but now the company decided to reverse course and become an exclusively gas-fired energy plant.

Kemper was slated to be the largest coal carbon capture plant ever built, touted as potentially the first of many similar projects worldwide.

Source

Kemper, built in America’s lowest-income state, was marketed as proof that American innovation could show the world that clean coal technology made economic sense but it failed

So it’s ok for the EU to place tariffs on Chinese steel but not ok for the US to place tariffs on EU steel?

Good, now you got the point why the EU will propose retaliatory tariffs

Re: Will Trump be a Good President?

President Trump has insisted to aides that he will not be swept up in the special counsel investigation of Russia's role in the 2016 election.

At the same time, Trump thinks that the American public is beginning to fall in line with his claim that it was the Democrats – rather than his campaign – that conspired with Moscow during the presidential race.

Of course, Hillary conspired with the Russians to lose the Presidential election - Umm, wait a minute
