EU tariffs protect jobs in the EU, Trump tariffs will destroy jobs in the EU.
Next question?
Let's be fair - someone's gotta be - that problem is not in Trump's job-description.

And I'm not too sorry about EU getting a sip of it's own medicine.

I beleive this is just a ruse to get the EU to negotiate. They can scream revenge, but when the dust has settled they will see that the best thing is to go back to the negotiating table.

Sort of what Trump wanted all along. But sometimes you just have to go the long way round.

Switzerland is in the single market so it gets to sip the same medicine

NK has been courting the US for decades and wariness has always prevailed, let's hope Trump hasn't just delivered a massive propaganda coup to the Rocket Man
So the moral of the story is, if you want to have tea with Trump, start developing nuclear weapons like 20 years ago.

I can see a whole new trend emerging here.

That's another nail in the coffin of the Swiss steel mills. Mass unemployment is just around the corner.

I don't like tariffs and protectionism anywhere, but it's a bit rich when the EU get on their high horse over it.

Here you can find all the tariffs the EU imposes. How are Trump tariffs bad and EU tariffs good?

http://madb.europa.eu/madb/euTariffs.htm
You mean the internationally agreed WTO tariffs that the EU applies, same as (until now) the USA? The system that Trump now wants to break by imposing penal tariffs?

EU average btw is 2.3%

I thought it was more Kim's "strongman tactics" that were pointing to war? He was the one chucking missiles around, as I recall.

Anyway, NK's probably run out of cash for now so the Trump circus might just be a filler until Kim's raised some more funds.

They may be "Internationally agreed" at the WTO but we all know in the end it comes down to bullying.

As another example of the hypocrisy:
Tariffs on EU cars entering the US - 2.5%
Tariffs on US cars entering the EU - 10%

A tariff aimed firmly at Asia. No European in their right mind buys US produced cars. And anyway still within the WTO rules which Trump wants to break.

Was this also within WTO rules?

EU imposes import duties of up to 73.7% on cheap Chinese steel

Re: Will Trump be a Good President?

The telephone rings at the oval office. Trump answers.

Kim Jong Un: Hi Donald. This is Kim. How are you?

Donald: Kim from North Korea? This is great! I'm fine. And you?

Kim: Doing well. What do you think about coming over to visit me? I'd love to talk to you in my country.

Donald: That would be great. The last President that visited your lovely country was Nixon and that went well. It's time the United States came to visit you again.

Kim: Wonderful. Then it's a date.

Donald: I'm looking forward to it. I'll tell my staff today. What are we going to talk about?

Kim: Let's wing it.

Donald: Great. I'm really good at that.

Donald hangs up and thinks about how he's going to make history by visiting Kim, especially since Nixon was the last President to visit. In his excitement in telling his staff, he overlooked the horror on their faces and their drooping shoulders while leaving the meeting.

Donald's making America great again.

I'm surprised Trump would know that. Did Fox report about this yesterday?

The font used for the news-paper-title on this site looks like a Nazi-paper in the 30-ies. Is that part of the joke?
