| | Re: Will Trump be a Good President? | Quote: | | | | Must admit I forgot Tesla (was looking at ICE lists). They sell in good numbers in Norway specifically due to the tax/incentive situation there but not particularly in Sweden or Denmark. Also decent numbers in CH and the Netherlands relative to the market size - although still only about 1% of the total market last year.
Saw elsewhere their European sales numbers crashed in Jan/Feb 2018. Really no idea what is behind that. http://carsalesbase.com/european-car-sales-data/tesla/ | | | | | Competition? Free Market? Post Christmas New Years blues? Market Correction?

That's why I try to read a bunch of sources to get a better picture of what's going on. Business Insider isn't one of my go-to sources though. | The following 2 users would like to thank 3Wishes for this useful post: | |

Like 3Wishes said, I think it's best to read the same stories from both sides, often the 'truth' is somewhere in the middle.

In all the other "excitement" it sort of got hidden that 11 nations got together on the same day that Trump imposed tariffs to actually sign the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP), a sweeping trade agreement that Trump withdrew from last year.
The nations are Australia, Brunei, Canada, Chile, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Peru, Singapore and Vietnam. Source |

As another example of the hypocrisy:
Tariffs on EU cars entering the US - 2.5%
Tariffs on US cars entering the EU - 10% | | | | | Actually the smart move for the EU would be to get some concessions from Trump in return for aligning the tariffs.
US cars do not sell well in the EU because they are not designed for the EU market, cutting the tariffs would be risk free for the EU.
The BMW plant in Greer, South Carolina is currently BMW's sole global production site for X3, X4, X5, and X6 crossover SUVs. It is claimed 70% of the production is exported regardless of tariff effects.
Another barrier to US car sales in the EU is the high prices asked vs the US list prices.
It is interesting that nobody ever mentions the US tariff on imports of pickup trucks and vans which is 25%!

President Trump telephoned a "Fox & Friends" co-host Pete Hegseth to weigh in on legislation about veterans’ health care during a meeting with Veterans Affairs Secretary David Shulkin, Axios reported Sunday. Source

Rasmussen and others have my approval ratings at around 50%, which is higher than Obama, and yet the political pundits love saying my approval ratings are “somewhat low.” They know they are lying when they say it. Turn off the show - FAKE NEWS! | | | | | | Quote: | | | | Friday, March 09, 2018
The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Friday shows that 44% of Likely U.S. Voters approve of President Trump’s job performance. Fifty-four percent (54%) disapprove. | | | | | Source
Maybe I am naive but I still find it amazing that Trump can publish such bare faced lies.
Incidentally at the same point in his Presidency Obama was also at 44% on Rasmussen so Trump is not "higher than Obama".
The Real Clear Politic has Trump averaging 40.9% across 7 major polls. Source |

Opens the door for Trump to push the envelope further and say ever more ridiculous things.

A quick Google will show that Trump has always been a serial liar. The idea that the msm somehow has pushed him to exaggerate to create balance is "interesting" .

"MSM made me do it"
Seriously? Is this how this particular leader of the free world will be remembered? So easily triggered by the media that it forces him to be even more ridiculous than they are reporting him?

I said that due to the msm 'crying wolf' and revealing their bias it has allowed Trump to push the envelope of what is acceptable further.
Had they not been so alarmist over petty shit (Trump gets two sccops of ice cream! ) then maybe they would have a lot more credibility when they criticise him.

I think "alarmist" is a bit over-doing it, right? "Alarmist" is probably being reserved for when he "pushes the envelope" and is dancing the fandango in the Rose Garden in Melania's panties.
