Re: Will Trump be a Good President?

I doubt Trump enjoyed his executive time in bed this morning

Quote:
Fox News hosts were among President Trump’s biggest critics on Friday after he signed the $1.3 trillion omnibus spending bill.

Laura Ingraham and Sean Hannity, who both reportedly talk to Trump regularly, used their shows to tear into Trump and the GOP over the bill, which Ingraham described as “Christmas” for Democrats.

Other conservative voices, including Ann Coulter and Matt Drudge, also slammed Trump for signing the bill.
Source

I believe Trump only created this DACA diversion to give him a lever over the Democrats to force them to vote for funding his wall. However his procrastinating and vacillating on exactly what deal he would accept combined with the Courts blocking him meant he had no chance of success.

No doubt his comments on the Bill reflect his frustration?

I doubt someone who attacks people and fires people by tweet would have the courage to have actually vetoed the Bill.

A moment of humour.

After Trump's health check up, quite a lot of people people do not believe he is only 239lbs (108.4 kg) so they have started a "girther" movement (following on the birther movement for Obama). Some good postings if you want a laugh.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/arti...al-weight.html

And it seems that he has grown 1 inch (2.54 cm). Must be the new hair-do.
Dr. Ronny Jackson, the presidential physician who has served under three presidents, has been nominated for a promotion.

The Pentagon announced on Friday that President Donald Trump nominated Jackson to the position of rear admiral (upper half) from his current position of rear admiral (lower half).

The nomination, which secretary of defense Jim Mattis announced, would give Jackson his second star and a bump in pay.

Jackson gained notoriety earlier this year when he briefed reporters on Trump's first physical exam, touting the commander in chief's "incredible genes" and overall "excellent" health.

And also being a lucky one pound light of being obese - that was close!

Still Friday....

Quote:
Joseph diGenova's role as part of President Donald Trump's legal team is still in question.
DiGenova's hiring was announced on Monday to join Trump's legal team just days before Trump legal team leader John Dowd resigned on Thursday. DiGenova has been considered a possible front-runner to replace Dowd.

Concerns have arisen about potential conflicts of interest for both diGenova and his wife and law partner, Victoria Toensing, who was also under consideration to join the team.
One source said no one had officially been hired.

The potential conflicts were flagged to Trump's legal team by Dowd before he resigned
Meanwhile President Trump on Friday asked Congress to provide him with a line-item veto on spending bills, as he signed a $1.3 trillion omnibus spending package that includes provisions he doesn't like.

The Supreme Court in 1998 ruled that legislation giving then-President Clinton a line-item veto for tax and spending provisions was unconstitutional.

Source

The comedy circus continues...

It is claimed many top Washington lawyers have declined the opportunity to join Trump's team
Seems John Dowd was correct
Quote:
President Donald Trump's attorney Jay Sekulow announced Sunday that Joseph diGenova and Victoria Toensing will not join Trump's legal team for the Russia probe.

"The President is disappointed that conflicts prevent Joe diGenova and Victoria Toensing from joining the President's Special Counsel legal team.

I did not take much interest in US politics before Trump.
Is it usual that an Administration makes so many errors?
Seems to be a regular occurrence that the Courts block Trump's actions because they fail to comply with the law!

Trump is the first president in U.S. history to have no prior political or military experience whatsoever. He prefers not to hire many folks that have political experience. So yes, it's to be expected he's going to have some mistakes. The number so far though, I am not sure anyone expected.

I believe it appears that way because Trump announces every little thing on Twitter, so it's all become 'more visible' / attention seeking. I'm sure many of us have been unfortunate enough to work with someone like that in our time.

I'm also sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong here, but if memory serves me right, Obama issued a fewer Executive Orders than any of the last 5 Presidents. He also got into bother for a number of things... http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-me...-times-obama-/

A friend in the US believes that Trump was his own worst enemy when he introduced the 'Two For One' Executive Order. https://www.theatlantic.com/business...ion-eo/515007/ He treats rules and laws like one huge game of Jenga, and the courts don't like that one bit, so it's hardly surprising that his disrespect for the law and rules in general, doesn't garner him any favours.

Without doubt, Obama -- like every US president before and after him -- did not succeed in every action he initiated. But if you read that article you linked, you'll see that Goodlatte's accusation that Obama repeatedly exceeded his constitutional authority is rated "False" by Politifact!

Trump has repeatedly and very publically (by social media, as you point out) set himself up for failure, then duly delivered. He really has only himself to blame; he's simply not intellectually up to the task of being president.

"McMaster learned of his ouster after being invited to a hastily convened meeting in the Roosevelt room, on his arrival he found the other participants seated and one seatless place at the table. Upon asking where his seat was the president replied in a mocking tone 'Don't you have no seat Herbie? guess that means you're outta here'

No, I made that up, but how easy was it to believe?

Glad you liked it, I was going to say that a sad trombone was played over the intercom too, but I thought that was a bit far.
