At the end of the day these tweets soon disappear and are forgotten. They are not part of any formal process that leads to debate, next steps and any form of problem resolution. Basically you are talking to yourself! | | | | |
That is (almost) the whole point of Twitter.
BUT: the attention span of people is so small these days that a lot of them don't seem to find anything wrong about this circus.

Meanwhile, a tweet | Quote: | | | | Donald J. Trump@realDonaldTrump
I hereby demand, and will do so officially tomorrow, that the Department of Justice look into whether or not the FBI/DOJ infiltrated or surveilled the Trump Campaign for Political Purposes - and if any such demands or requests were made by people within the Obama Administration! | | | | | And one of the less moronic replies | Quote: | | | | You’re just mad because Megan Markel got more attention than you yesterday. | | | | | I doubt Trump can order the DOJ around when there is supposed to be separation of powers?

I doubt Trump can order the DOJ around when there is supposed to be separation of powers? | | | | | Seems the DOJ have very cleverly sidestepped a constitutional conflict with Trump | Quote: | | | | The Department of Justice (DOJ) has asked its inspector general to look into whether the FBI surveilled President Trump's campaign for "inappropriate purposes." | | | | | Source
Former Deputy Attorney General Sally Yates: Trump has taken his ‘assault on the rule of law to a new level’ Source
Earlier this month, Yates said Trump was "tearing down the legitimacy” of the DOJ, warning that his attacks on top officials like Attorney General Jeff Sessions and special counsel Robert Mueller are “not normal,” but are becoming normalized.

Twitter bots may have altered the outcome of two of the world’s most consequential elections in recent years, according to an economic study.
Automated tweeting played a small but potentially decisive role in the 2016 Brexit vote and Donald Trump’s presidential victory, the National Bureau of Economic Research working paper showed this month.
Their rough calculations suggest bots added 1.76 percentage point to the pro-“leave” vote share as Britain weighed whether to remain in the European Union, and may explain 3.23 percentage points of the actual vote for Trump in the U.S. presidential race. Source

Trump. Sabotaging the Kim meeting with his tough talk to Iran. Seems he's doing that on purpose?

Meanwhile Trump met with the DOJ and FBI to initiate an investigation into past political enemies which political goal is supposed to be a No-No.
Communications with DOJ are supposed to be via the White House Counsel Don McGahn but that protocol seems to have gone out of the window. Source
Former White House chief strategist Stephen Bannon blasted Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin on Monday, criticizing Mnuchin's attempt to call a truce over a brewing trade war with China.
Bannon told Bloomberg that President Trump “changed the dynamic regarding China, but in one weekend Secretary Mnuchin has given it away." Source
So far there are just vague public statements on what was agreed so far with China and there is little in common between the US and Chinese statements.

Doubts grow over Trump-Kim summit Source
Meanwhile members of the White House Communications Agency, which provides a range of communications support to US presidents, created and issued a commemorative coin featuring Trump and Kim's likeness with the words "PEACE TALKS" above them. Source
Snap up the coins now, they may become a rarity
Regional expert Prof Robert E Kelly, of Busan University in South Korea, took to Twitter to describe the coin as "gross".

That was always going to be the problem: those two are too similar.
And when they see each other, it's like looking into a mirror and they realize just how ugly all of this is.
It's the same with the hardliners in Iran and the conservatives in the US.

…. | | | | | but who's listening?
It's no surprise to those paying attention but, Spanky admitted he actively attacks the press to diminish the impact of negative stories about him.
his supporters will scream the usual response, unable to weigh the words of a veteran reporter against a known liar.

With Trump also tempering expectations about a N. Korea summit it seems foreign policy successes are slipping from his grasp |

Spanky seems to be having a senior moment | Quote: | | | | Donald J. Trump@realDonaldTrump
There will be big news coming soon for our great American Autoworkers. After many decades of losing your jobs to other countries, you have waited long enough! | | | | | General assumption is he was talking about China cutting import tariffs on autos from 25% to 15% that was already announced yesterday; Trump was complaining about this tariff months ago.
Likely this will not do much for the US; GM and Ford already build very many cars in China so little increase in exports likely from these companies.
The tariff reduction was for all countries; shares of BMW AG and Tata Motors Ltd., owner of Jaguar Land Rover, rose after China’s announcement.
Porsche and Toyota are also expected to benefit.
Tesla cut prices in China today but they only have 3% of the China electric vehicle market so a small player. Anyway their factory is in California so not a traditional site for American Autoworkers!

"President Donald Trump has ordered a national security probe into vehicle imports, which could bring new tariffs.
Mr Trump said the US car industry was "critical to our strength as a nation" and ordered the Department of Commerce to investigate.
The probe rests on 1960s legislation which lets the president restrict imports if they threaten national security.
It is the latest move in Mr Trump's America First trade agenda.
The president tweeted earlier on Wednesday about "big news" for the country's autoworkers." http://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-44234245
And he's got to unblock the accounts he's blocked on Twitter as well.
"US President Donald Trump may not "block" Twitter users from viewing his online profile due to their political beliefs, a judge in New York has ruled.
District Judge Naomi Reice Buchwald in Manhattan said that blocking access to his @realDonaldTrump account would be a violation of the right to free speech.
The lawsuit against Mr Trump and other White House officials stems from his decision to bar several online critics.
The White House has yet to comment on the judge's ruling.
The case was brought by The Knight First Amendment Institute at Columbia University on behalf of seven Twitter users who had been blocked by Mr Trump for criticising him or mocking him online." http://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-44232226

President Trump on Thursday canceled his nuclear summit with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, citing Kim’s “tremendous anger and open hostility” toward the United States. Source
Typical Trump, maybe the meeting will be on again in an hour or maybe it was never a reality?
Glad I did not move my wine out of our bomb shelter; maybe should add some more bottles?
