Hopefully the GOP will continue to push back against major Trump "untruths" and demonstrate they continue to back their own policies?
Won't matter much I'm afraid. If you repeat a lie often enough it will eventually be believed. After all he promised to drain the swamp so that's what he'll do, right?

There we go. Trump wants you to imagine that option. It works. Smart guy.

I don't think he is in it for cash.

I also think he is already enjoying himself.

Like most Trump supporters you copy Trump & simply invent stories without any evidence or checking the facts
Trump has long ago qualified as racist
For someone who has spent decades in the limelight to be so obviously racist, he has done really well to never have been convicted of racial abuse, discrimination or the like.

One of the benefits of being a billionaire
As early as 1973 he was accused by the Justice Department of violations of the Fair Housing Act in the operation of 39 buildings. The government alleged that Trump's corporation quoted different rental terms and conditions to blacks and made false "no vacancy" statements to blacks for apartments they managed in Brooklyn, Queens, and Staten Island.
Trump settled the charges out of court in 1975.

Well settling out of court is sort of admitting guilt. But it was 1970 New York so corruption was rife and so was racism.

As for historical racism in the Trump family, there are rumours to that effect.

Were you on holiday KK? We were plodding along happily without you there for a while.

Well, let me put it this way: I would never, ever settle out of court if I wern't guilty.
Actually that is a very strange thing to do, even KK should admit. ROFL. Why would you settle (pay) for something you haven't done?

It's quite common in the U.S., particularly for civil cases. Juries are notorious for awarding insane amounts in damages. The threshold for what constitutes guilt is also different. Most of the time if there's a possibility a jury could find against you, it's better (less expensive, less hassle) to settle out of court with a clause that says you don't admit guilt.

Of course that means sometimes people or companies that did do something wrong get away with little more than a slap on the hand.

Isn't it the same when you get into a discussion you know it's not going to bring you anywhere good? You know you're right but it's healthier to just opt out, without further explanations.
*cough cough*, Tom.

Stating that an obese man is obese and therefore has a significantly reduced life expectancy isn't insulting or making fun of him. It is stating facts.

I'm shocked you don't know the difference. I would appreciate the irony of being called Dyson by an intellectual vacuum however, so please go ahead.

OPILexpats has no particular reputation at present
Re: Will Trump be a Good President?

The thing to remember here is the action for 1973 was likely filed against his company, not him personally. In that instance, the company would be liable for a fine. The defense of such a case is also extremely expensive. So, it comes down to simple maths...especially for a business.
