...... the lawyers will have to give reasons for each item that they want protected by attorney-client privilege but publicly .....
That makes no sense to me at all. What kind of judge is that?!

Considering a lawyer can lose his licensure leaking things under attorney-client privilege - the lawyers are fu***d either way or what?!

Rep. John Yarmuth (D-Ky.) on Friday mocked President Trump's call for reinstating Russia into the Group of Seven, saying that Trump "sure is loyal to the country that elected him."

That's very much in line with his style and his experience as a CEO. You meet for a bit to come to a soft agreement, and then your minions hammer out the details. It may be fore the best that way. He gets the photo op and the credit, and someone who really knows what's going on comes up with the agreement.
Thinking about it a bit more.
The risk Trump runs with no summit preparation is if he agrees to lift some sanctions but the other countries in the group of 7 do not agree then it will be like a mirror image of the Iran situation where Trump wants to retain sanctions but the other countries not.

Trump throws tantrum as usual.

"The G7 summit has ended in acrimony, with US President Donald Trump lashing out at host Canada and retracting his endorsement of the joint statement."

Face to face with his colleagues he agreed to the joint statement but after he left the summit he sent a tweet retracting; not the actions of a brave man!

Meanwhile it seems Macon won the handshake contest, look at the thumb mark on poor Don's hand.

Re: Will Trump be a Good President?

The whole handshake contest is a bit silly. If Macron really wants to get DT's goat, next time they shake hands he should offer his hand but then not squeeze at all - the 'limp shake'. It's over the top weird - creepy as hell, feels like grabbing a cadaver's hand. Try it sometime on someone..

Re: Will Trump be a Good President?

Yeah, because otherwise Trumpy would be bouncing up and down yelling "You're fired, you're fired".

Meanwhile Macron has let fly as well.

"Let's be serious and worthy of our people. We make commitments and keep to them," a statement from the French presidency quoted by AFP news agency said.
"International co-operation cannot be dictated by fits of anger and throwaway remarks," it added."

https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-44430000

Throwaway remarks - Trump will like that.

Re: Will Trump be a Good President?

What Trump said yesterday
Quote:
Donald J. Trump@realDonaldTrump

PM Justin Trudeau of Canada acted so meek and mild during our @G7 meetings only to give a news conference after I left saying that, “US Tariffs were kind of insulting” and he “will not be pushed around.” Very dishonest & weak. Our Tariffs are in response to his of 270% on dairy!

1:04 AM - 10 Jun 2018
But this is no different than what Trudeau said a week ago so why pretend it is?
Quote:
it was "insulting" that the tariffs were imposed under the guise of protecting US national security and that Canada is "not going to be pushed around."

Fair Trade is now to be called Fool Trade if it is not Reciprocal. According to a Canada release, they make almost 100 Billion Dollars in Trade with U.S. (guess they were bragging and got caught!). Minimum is 17B. Tax Dairy from us at 270%. Then Justin acts hurt when called out!

According to Trump's own Govt. Dept the US has a trade surplus with Canada not a deficit, Don should shut up and enjoy

Quote:
The U.S. goods and services trade surplus with Canada was $8.4 billion in 2017.

Don is in danger of killing a golden goose

Over thirty U.S. states rank Canada as their number one export market.
In 2016, U.S. exports to Canada exceeded total U.S. exports to China, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore combined.
