FBI getting hit from both sides, when will it ever regain trust?

Quote:
Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) said Sunday it was “deeply disturbing” that Rep. Devin Nunes (R-Calif.) received classified information about Hillary Clinton’s emails from FBI field agents in 2016.

Nunes, chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, said last week that FBI agents gave him information about former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s emails, which were contained on former New York congressman Anthony Weiner's (D) laptop, in late September 2016.

.....George Conway, the husband of White House counselor Kellyanne Conway, said allegations that the Donald J. Trump Foundation may have violated campaign finance laws should be referred to the U.S. attorney’s office in Manhattan.

“These are obviously very serious allegations, and they should be referred to the United States Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York,” George Conway tweeted Sunday morning.

White House counselor Kellyanne Conway is one of Trump's most trusted aides but nevertheless her husband has over the last year published a lot of advice that is unhelpful for Trump!
Democracy?

The statement you quoted is tame and .... logic? I even dare to call it reasonable. I totally agree, allegations should be referred to public prosecution departments and not to CNN and FOX.
But that is some old fashioned Swiss attitude I guess

Re: Will Trump be a Good President?

Maybe somebody 674 pages above this has already said this, but there's an interesting documentary called "Get me Roger Stone" - I think it's on Netflix but it's widely available.

Of all the people involved in this mess, Stone seems to be the smartest - by far.

After all, he was already (mildly) involved in Watergate and almost every time, the GOP had some shenanigans to be done.

He wouldn't implicate himself or Trump in such a dumb manner.

But unfortunately, that cannot be said about the rest of the pack...

Re: Will Trump be a Good President?

India is moving forward with plans to hit back at the United States over trade.
The country has proposed hiking tariffs on 30 US products in order to recoup trade penalties worth $241 million, according to a revised World Trade Organization filing.

India said the retaliatory barriers are equal in value to US tariffs on steel and aluminum from India that were imposed by the Trump administration in March.

The new tariffs target products including American almonds, walnuts and apples, as well as some chemical and metal products.

India said its tariff on large American motorcycles, which President Donald Trump has repeatedly spoken out against, will also be hiked.

Source

The investors in world stock markets are mostly ignoring the looming trade war.
I assume because they believe it is just Trump rhetoric and will fade away

If not the global economy will strongly react.

Washington Post employees want to go on strike because Bezos isn’t paying them enough. I think a really long strike would be a great idea. Employees would get more money and we would get rid of Fake News for an extended period of time! Is @WaPo a registered lobbyist?
Jeff Bezos continues to ignore Trump provocations

I suppose when your net worth is over 50 times Trump's net worth then replying to Trump is not the best use of your time from a wealth creation viewpoint

Re: Will Trump be a Good President?

Chinese state media has attacked the White House for escalating the prospect of a trade war, calling the administration of president Donald Trump “selfish” and “rude” and “mundane” in its capriciousness.

China’s official Xinhua news agency added: “The wise man builds bridges, the fool builds walls!

Chinese state media still left room for the possibility of negotiations. “Given the frequent flip-flopping of the Donald Trump administration, it is still too early to conclude that a trade war will start,” said an English-language editorial in the China Daily.

If anyone has experiences with walls it would be China. And, IIRC, their wall was built to slow raiders returning home after their pillaging - not to keep anyone out.

Just as the Mexico wall is to slow down the flood of jobs coming back to America.

Or something like that.

Migrants "may" have fueled violent crime rise. In one Bundesland.

Poor effort, even by the standards of this thread.

According to the link "The researchers also said that migrants were twice as likely to be reported to police for alleged violent crimes as German nationals."

In an earlier report they said that meant any comparison of crime rates of migrants versus citizens was unreliable

They started building walls in China a couple of millennia ago but they gave up in recent centuries as they realised this old fashioned approach was not a good solution when faced with modern technology like planes, and cranes and extending ladders
