Sad indeed. A more armed society with easy access to firearms is not a safer society, in my opinion - and I am a gun owner.

(We own guns and firearms for various purposes - target shooting, clay pigeon shooting, and hunting. They are all locked up in safe places nowhere near our house, car, etc. and not charged. They are only taken out for their intended purpose, when needed, and put back when done. I would even be 100% in favor of having more restrictive gun regulations that prevent us from owning guns, but let us practice our sports with non-proprietary guns, if that is what is needed to end the craziness of easy gun access in the USA).

Really cannot understand the US's continuing, blind support of Israel regardless of what they do. Any other country and they'd have been bollocked left, right and centre. It's a miracle they abstained from the recent Israeli settlement vote.

I'll agree with the interesting part...

... as in the old curse, "May you live in interesting times."

It may be fun and interesting viewed from the safety of out of the fray Switzerland, but for those of us who have to get through the next 4 years (and likely more) in the US, or whose loved ones in the US will likely be left vulnerable, the future we face is no laughing matter.

Just back from the US, Chicago and Indiana.

Saw well-to-do folks on both sides jumping on the bandwagon (screw principles and screw the 99%), saw a lot of ordinary folks increasingly afraid - and saw some true ugliness being 'normalized'.
