Re: Will Trump be a Good President?

Seems the Law of Unintended Consequences is also hitting Trump due to his Obamacare policies that increased premiums.

Average monthly premiums for 2018 jumped 27% -- that came on top of a 21% increase the prior year.

However this year's Obamacare enrollees are more likely to receive federal subsidies to help pay their premiums. Some 87% of this group qualified for government assistance, compared to 84% who were typically subsidized in 2017.

The average monthly subsidy for 2018 was $520, compared to $373 a year earlier -- an increase that will likely raise federal spending by more than $17 billion this year.

So much for Trump's campaign promises to cut the US deficit!!

Not so funny for those middle class whose annual income is over $98,400 for a family of four so do not qualify for subsidies.

Edit; forgot Source!

Wonder, if this damages Harley even more, when some people start to postpone a purchase or buy 'not Harleys', because they don't want to bear the Trump stigma.
Harley sold some 3k new bikes in CH annually in recent years. Their sales volume has been falling since about 2012 so probably nothing to do with Trump. Someone else will have to dig out the numbers if you meant the US.

Re: Will Trump be a Good President?

Quote:
The Senate Intelligence Committee on Tuesday released an unclassified bipartisan report saying the panel backed the intelligence community's assessment that Russian efforts to sow discord and misinformation during the 2016 presidential election were intended to aid President Trump.

The summary comes in stark contrast to the final (non bipartisan) report from the House Intelligence Committee, which concluded its own probe into Moscow's 2016 election meddling earlier this year and said the evidence suggested the Kremlin's intention was to foment chaos and dissent, not specifically help Trump.

Pass the popcorn and wait for tweets.

Meanwhile
Quote:
Federal prosecutors concluded an 18-month investigation into a former congressional technology staffer on Tuesday by publicly debunking allegations — promoted by conservative media and President Trump — suggesting he was a Pakistani operative who stole government secrets with cover from House Democrats.

The agreement included an unusual passage
"“The Government has uncovered no evidence that your client violated federal law with respect to the House computer systems,” including stealing equipment or illegally accessing or transferring information, including sensitive or classified information"
Source

Another conspiracy theory bites the dust.

EDIT; Imran Awan said “This has cost me my reputation, my livelihood, my family,” he said. “I can’t believe this.”

He added, “The president used me to advance his political agenda.”

Donald J. Trump@realDonaldTrump

After having written many best selling books, and somewhat priding myself on my ability to write, it should be noted that the Fake News constantly likes to pour over my tweets looking for a mistake. I capitalize certain words only for emphasis, not b/c they should be capitalized!
LOL "pour", maybe he meant p#ss or even "pore".

Seventeen books bear the Donald J Trump name, questions remain about how many of these 17 books Trump has, in any literal sense, written.
Each of them is ghosted, a collaborative relationship in which the exact division of labour remains mysterious.
It may be that an old joke about David Beckham applies still more firmly to Trump: that he is in the unusual position of having written more books than he has read.

Talking of the economy; stoking an economy that was running well and close to full employment with massive tax cuts is like throwing petrol on a barbecue

Will be interesting to see how it turns out, I don 't believe anybody ever tried that before.

Anyway good for some people.
Due to the labour shortage, more and companies in the US Mid-West are employing people regardless of criminal records or drug usage

Just out that the Obama Administration granted citizenship, during the terrible Iran Deal negotiation, to 2,500 Iranians - including to government officials. How big (and bad) is that?
"What is interesting about this is that what happened is a hardline crank in Iran just randomly made this comment, Fox News writes a story on it, and then Trump tweets it"

"He had every opportunity to call people in his own Department of Homeland Security and State Department to ask whether or not this was true.
And they would have told him it wasn't,"
"Instead, he relies on Fox News.
And the scary thing is that he's increasingly relying on sources like Fox News to get his intelligence rather than the professionals in his own government."

Source

The number of Iranians naturalized in the U.S. declined after the deal was signed, from 10,344 in 2015 to 9,507 in 2016, according to the Department of Homeland Security. In 2014, the number of Iranians who were made citizens was 9,620.

The OPEC Monopoly must remember that gas prices are up & they are doing little to help. If anything, they are driving prices higher as the United States defends many of their members for very little $’s. This must be a two way street. REDUCE PRICING NOW!
Another nutty tweet from Spanky, so who are the "many of their members" being defended?? Maybe he thinks OPEC are in the EU

The OPEC members are Islamic Republic of Iran, Iraq, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Venezuela, Qatar, Indonesia, Libya, the United Arab Emirates, Algeria, Nigeria, Ecuador, Angola, Equatorial Guinea and Congo.
