This action probably wasn't aimed at the Russians and the primary purpose is to damage Trump's start.
Obviously the Democrats aren't prepared to admit they lost because they fielded a bum candidate and hope that the narative sticks that Trump succeeded only because of Russian interference in the election procedure.
It is a riduculous gamble on Obama's part. The 'evidence' that is leaking out appears inconclusive. Trump will obviously not have a lot of patience for stories about his victory being due to Russian support. It'll take only a few leaked 'doubts' from the security services that the available evidence may not support the drastic action that Obama has taken and he [Obama] will be very exposed. One thing is clear. The Russians will play this perfectly.
Returning to the quality of evidence; when the US were caught meddling in Ukraine starting at the beginning of the crisis with their (ultimately successful) attempts to install a puppet regime there and destabilise the whole region, perfect incontrovertible proof of this interference was immediately produced in the form of intercepted communications which even the parties involved confirmed as genuine. http://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-26079957 . Are we going to see evidence of this quality from Obama? I doubt it.
Will Trump be a good president? America has got what it deserves. I just hope that place implodes without too much fall out else where.
"The 'evidence' that is leaking out appears inconclusive." To whom does it appear inconclusive?
You yourself refer to "in the form of intercepted communications" which is clear evidence of Russian interference and capabilities.

There is far too much evidence by both public and private sources over several years of Russian interference for rational people to ignore it.

Well, this is going to help the situation in the Middle East - I don't think.

http://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-38337108

Really cannot understand the US's continuing, blind support of Israel regardless of what they do. Any other country and they'd have been bollocked left, right and centre. It's a miracle they abstained from the recent Israeli settlement vote.
Next question?

Not at all. I think the US will be the best place to be in a couple of years.
And you talk about others needing to be "awake from their stupor"? You are bordering on the fanatical.

I don't get that. If there is evidence that the Russians interfered in a democratic process, there should be repercussions otherwise nobody will have any faith in the integrity of future elections.

No, Putin is admitting his guilt by not reacting.

Oh really! Surely the incident referred to in the link was so well known that hardly any further explanation or supporting material was required. Anyway, for those who still try to maintain they do not know what happened:

1. A phone conversation between Victoria Nuland (US Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs) and Geoffrey Pyatt (then United States Ambassador to Ukraine) were caught plotting and preparing the installation of a puppet regime in Ukraine by means of an intercepted phone conversation. There are stacks of links including the recorded conversation. Take your pick. https://www.google.ch/?gws_rd=ssl#ne...+fu%3Fk+europe (Warning to pro Europeans on this thread: she also said something naughty about Europe).

2. Here is Victoria Nuland admitting the accuracy of the audio recording. She referred to it as "pretty impressive tradecraft". She even came close to apologising. http://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-26079591 . Surely that must be enough to count as "incontrovertible proof" and "even the parties involved confirmed as genuine"

3. Of course, the contents of the Phone conversation were not the only acts of US interference and meddling in the Ukraine. For example, she [Nuland] was later seen feeding cookies to rioters etc.

4. This, amongst many other incidents, makes the US reaction to alleged interference in its domestic affairs laughable.

While I don't doubt that Russia does have an interest in having a less hawkish (on Russia) President, the most damaging leaks were apparently not hacks, but rather leaks from a DNC insider who presumably was disgruntled with HRC's antics.

But even if this was direct Russian action, with the numerous actions of the US in the past to topple regimes to install sympathetic puppets, and the open talk of regime change for a number of countries, I have to laugh at the hypocrisy of the US tantrum over alleged Russian interference with the elections. The US has the least moral authority on this issue out of any country in the world.

Maybe, but I find it astonishing that nobody can prove or disprove if Trump and Putin have ever met. Trump has claimed they have on a number of occassions, then denied it and/or been proved wrong. Bizarre behaviour from a supposed adult.

So whatever he does he's admitting guilt. Right.

Apparently Putin is no longer considering Russia a superpower, the only one left are the US, see 3:25-4:05 in this interview. Assuming the translation is correct, I'd love to hear comments on the translation's accuracy.

Who needs satire when we can watch the full absurdity of a leadership transition in the US turning into a parody of itself, through normal media channels.
