Re, NK, surprise, surprise, I think only the Spanky supporters were fooled by that dog and pony show, 'winning' I believe they call it, which means he didn't actually shit his pants.
It's fascinating though, I often wondered how the Kim, the Pol Pots, the Stalins and Mussolinis of the world got into power, now we have ringside seats at a reenactment. | | | | | Some people believe Trump delayed trade tariffs on China until he believed he no longer needed China's help with NK.
Karma!
EDIT: Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) suggested on Sunday that China may have pressured North Korea to take a harder line against U.S. negotiators during a recent visit to the isolated country by Secretary of State Mike Pompeo.
"I see China’s hands all over this," Graham told Fox News Source |

Perhaps Mr. Trump should put down the ‘art of the deal’ and pick up the ‘art of war’.

One has to wonder if the people in Trump organisation talk to each other? | Quote: | | | | Trade tensions between the U.S. and longtime allies have thus far not bled over into military activities at NATO, the U.S. ambassador to the treaty organization said Sunday ahead of President Donald Trump’s trip to Europe later this week. | | | | | Source
Meanwhile from Trump himself | Quote: | | | | Donald J. Trump@realDonaldTrump
The United States is spending far more on NATO than any other Country. This is not fair, nor is it acceptable.
While these countries have been increasing their contributions since I took office, they must do much more.
Germany is at 1%, the U.S. is at 4%, and NATO benefits ...Europe far more than it does the U.S.
By some accounts, the U.S. is paying for 90% of NATO, with many countries nowhere close to their 2% commitment. On top of this the European Union has a Trade Surplus of $151 Million with the U.S., with big Trade Barriers on U.S. goods.
NO! | | | | | Germany actually pays 1.2% but we are used to Trump^s casual attitude to the truth aren't we?

| | | | | The government has already budgeted to increase this to over 1.5 with more to follow. In all honesty not to please the US, but because we don't fully trust them as a partner anymore. Now that's an achievement Trump can rightfully claim.
Our defence minister went to Washington lately and agreed with her US counterpart that money is important but more important than the total number is the way money is spent. You cannot just increase spending and get safety in return. It takes a bit of planning... and given how shit the German military was at planning in the last major programs do I want them to do this properly for once.

Perhaps the Germans can start charging rent for those US (and other NATO countries) bases?
Or if the Yanks want to go home, let them.

| | Re: Will Trump be a Good President? | Quote: | | | | | | | | | Well Trump does not have a strategy; he simply jumps form one tactic to another.
This means his administration have to make up their strategy as they go along then when Trump pulls the carpet out from under their feet they have to make the best out of it that they can.
Even worse, if any group does develop a decent strategy then Trump sees it as a challenge to his authority and jumps off in a different direction!

Noel Cintron, Trump's driver for more than 20 years, filed the suit Monday against the Trump Organization in the New York Supreme Court. | | | | | The court will decide but it does remind me of a Roger Stone comment!

What better opportunity than to ride the groundswell of anti-Trump sentiment that exists in Germany and start protests and marches demanding the Americans go home and take all their hardware with them.

American air bases are along the western border (on purpose. This gave them an extra 30 seconds to get the metal into the air during the cold war). That's Helmut Kohl country. Imagine the most rural parts of Switzerland and suddenly would the Americans show up with truckloads of cash creating jobs for the local farmers... the cold war was unpopular, American soldiers in your pub are less than fun but the money was more than welcome. Especially in parts of the country which had literally zero career alternatives except of farming. Fast forward 70 years and you have entire villages working for them for two generations. If they close down will places like Rammstein be neck deep in trouble. All conversions of former military installations like Bitburg air base were so far total disasters... the local politicians are more than aware of that.
